you must register the software or discontinue its usage.
Introduction :
--------------
I have always been fascinated with the legends of highway men like Dick Trickle
and adventurers like Robin Hood and I thought how great they would fit in
during the medieval times of Dragon Hunting and conquest. I created
Highway man in reflection of the gentlemanly like manners and Wit that they
must have posessed to outrun the law as they acquired passerbys possessions.
Highwayman is a game whereby you can take up the challenge of a riddle. If
answered you are rewarded and welcomed to the fraternity of thieves and
highwaymen. If you answer wrong you pay the price as thousands before you.
Make no mistake they may have manners but they are still thieves and
will show no mercy . You of course have the option of running or fighting
if your warrior enough..They may even invite you to their camp where you can
shoot archery, talk to a fortune teller, eat, and see the camp blacksmith.
Its a fun IGM..........At this time I would like to thank Seth Robinson
for his awsome Door(LORD) and his inspiration with whom I would never have
started writing programs. Also thanks to the authors of DDPLUS who created
on heck of a door driver package and then put it out Freeware. Also thanks
to my Beta Testers who with their help and suggestions they made this
IGM what it is today. THANKS !!!!!

Installation :
-------------
1. Move the files in this archive into your LORD home directory.
example : C:\LORD
2. Make sure that All the files listed are moved into that dir.
If this is an upgrade you should just need to move the .EXE
file in that directory and overwrite it.
3. Setup your game control file ( HIGHWAY.CTL ) The .CTL file must
be named this. If you have a fossil driver running be sure to
remove the semicolon before the word Fossil. If you use a non
standard IRQ make sure you remove the semicolon from in front of
that comm port and edit the IRQ. If you use standard comm ports
leave the semicolons there. Some Wildcat boards have had
problems with htis control file if they uncomment standard comm
ports. Make sure this file is in the directory with HIGHWAY.EXE
otherwise the door will not work.
4. Run HWCFG.EXE and answer the questions. If the game is unregistered
enter the number ( 0 ) in the question asking for the
registration number. It will create a file called HW.CFG in the
LORD directory.
5. ********** 3RDPARTY.DAT ****************
Install the door into the 3RDPARTY.DAT file by putting
in these words
HIGHWAY /PC:\SF /N*
^^^^^^^
Path to your drop file (ie DOOR.SYS )
`9Highwayman ` Wonderland Software
optional command line parameters :
/Bxxxxx Locked baud rate for your BBS
/Cx This specifies comm port. Some BBS software
does not create drop files with comm port
info in it.
/E Tells game to use Expanded memory
/L Tells door to use local mode.
/NX This specifies node number to the door
/Mx used to specify on of multiple control
files ( ie /M2 tells it to use HIGHWAY2.CTL )
/Pyyy path to drop file. If this is left out of the
command line the door assumes the drop file
is in its directory
/W flags the program that a network is present
it is usefull if the door is run on a network
such as Novell that doesnt use multitaskers
common errors:
002 File not found error. usually caused by
improper drop file path setting or not all
the files being in the LORD directory
003 File path not found.
