  26. This is a real simple mod that will add a new double-slash command to
  27. your main menu:  //WWIVMAIL.  This will run Michael Leib's WWIVMail/QWK
  28. and will either supplant or augment running it as a chain.
  29.  
  30. Version C (this version) updates this mod for WWIV v.4.23 and
  31. WWIVMail/QWK v.4.53.  This mod used to be called CALVIN03.MOD
  32.  
  33. IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you ported a mod like this from v.4.22 to v.4.23,
  34. you NEED to switch to this mod.  WWIVMail/QWK now needs the path to
  35. CHAIN.x passed to it, so the old mod won't work, even though it'll
  36. compile.

  46. Back up your source code.  I use the "incremental backup" procedure,
  47. which utilizes the archive bit in the file attributes.  If you want
  48. info, read the PKZip docs or E-mail me.  It works great and saves a lot
  49. more time than just PKZIP -f BACKUP.ZIP *.H, etc.

  71. Compile.  Also, you've added a new command and need to tell your users
  72. about it. MENU15.ANS and .MSG are the menu files you need to update with the
  73. 1/WWIVMAIL0 command.  See the WWIV documentation for instructions on
  74. how to modify your menus, or send me some e-mail and I'll help you out.

  78. I am almost POSITIVE that this mod has been done before, but I was asked
  79. if I had seen it and couldn't find it, so here is another version.
  80. Obviously, I'm continuing to support it since I've updated it for WWIV
  81. v.4.23/ WWIVMail/QWK v.4.53.
  82.  
  83. What I wanted instead was have a way for users to get into WWIVMail/QWK
  84. without having to get into the chains section.  Why?  Because I
  85. installed TIMELOCK.MOD (by Stardriver #1 @15807, I think), which doesn't
  86. allow people into the chains for a sysop-configurable amount of time.
  87. This way they can still get their mail with WWIVMail/QWK.
  88. I have also have written a mod that asks users if they want to use
  89. WWIVMail/QWK right at logon.  That makes WWIVMail/QWK a little more
  90. visible, but you may prefer this option.  That mod is available as
  91. CALV02-x.MOD.
