occurrence when sound of character is illustrated.
* Implemented an improved timing mechanism in the Enhance/
Manual function to improve character decoding.
* The Enhance/Typewriter function now checks the accuracy of
the user's input, displays incorrect characters in reverse
video, and keeps a running tally.
* Added a function to tally and report the character content of
an exam file. This may be used to make sure that an exam
contains all the required characters.
* Added support for Nordic characters in all functions and several
other interntional characters in disk and keyboard modes (special
computer setup in CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT required - if you need
these characters, you'll already know how to do the setup).
* The documentation file (SM.DOC) can now be viewed from within
SUPER MORSE in Review menu.
* Changed character for <AR> prosign from "@" to "+" to conform
to ARRL convention.
* Made tying of SS,CS and WS user selectable.
* Reorganized settings in new Setup Menu
* Moved define character set to Setup menu.
* Expanded session buffer, and added selections in Review menu
to display, replay, delete, print, and save to disk file.
* Made use of hide, screen display only, and keyboard copy modes
selectable by user (ALT-END).
* Added choice of timing method using internal clock chip or
software loop. This will permit SUPER MORSE to run on
computers where the clock chip method does not work, including
WINDOWS and the McIntosh PC Emulator program.
* Added a PIF file to permit SUPER MORSE to run under Windows
as a DOS application using the loop timing method.
* Added ability to use mouse button as manual key.
* In manual key decode, corrected decoding "-" and added "=".
* Added Q-Signals to Words in Build phase.
* Permitted use of preset Farnsworth speed above 20 WPM.
Added a second Farnsworth speed for Extra speed.
* Changed programming format for scripted disk files. Added
ability to insert speed changes and speed lock into script
files. This is especially useful for classroom teaching to
prevent students from chaning to a lower speed.
* Added speed lock to Setup/Code to selectively disable speed
change keys.
* Changed timing factor data type to accommodate faster
machines.
* Permitted entry of prosigns as double character combinations
when the <SHIFT> key is pressed.
* Added support for the Sound Blaster audio card.
* Added silent flashing light as alternative output for use in
places where quiet is required.
Version 3.16
------------
* In <L>earn quizzes, eliminated delay after character is repeated
using the <SPACE> bar.
* Fixed problems in <M>easure <P>rint. The printer ready
routine did not work with all computers. Now the user is
prompted to turn on the printer. If the user fails to do so,
the program will return a DOS error and terminate.
* Added support for ports COM3 and COM4 for input/output
keying. Those ports are not yet available for the telephone
port.
