  2.      There is my setup for using QMAIL DELUXE and Word Perfect 4.2
  3. with DSZ in DESQView.
  4.  
  5.      The DSZ scripts and DVP assumes that your copy of DSZ is
  6. registered, is in \PRGMS\DSZ, and uses port 1 at 2400bps.  It
  7. also assumes that DESQView is in \OPER\DV2 and PC Mag's PRN2FILE
  8. is in \OPER\MISC.  Edit these defaults as needed, then convert
  9. the .TXT file to a .DVS file.  The Screen capture facility cannot
  10. be toggled while in  DSZ, Chuck Forseburg disallows <Control
  11. PrtSc>.  I have talked to him about this to no avail.
  12.  
  13. WARNING!:  you cannot switch out of DSZ during a file transfer if
  14. have a mouse configured.  THis bug is known by Quaterdeck, but I have
  15. not seen a fix for it yet.

  17.      The DS script is supplied as a .TXT file so you can combine
  18. it with any DS macros you currently have.  It should not need any
  19. changes.  The Delay of 1 used through-out may have to be
  20. increased on slow machines (you will know if you keep marking the
  21. wrong stuff).

  23. NOTE TO DV 2.2 users without a mouse!  These scripts WILL NOT WORK
  24. unless you turn on the keyboard mouse in the DS window.
  25.  
  26.      The QMAIL DELUXE batch file assumes a RAM Disk.
  27. This is necessary for the PUSHKEY API to work with QMAIL.
  28. The DVP for QMAIL does not allow background execution because
  29. QMAIL writes directly to the screen; the DESQEDIT.BAT takes
  30. advantage of this.

  32.      I use this system in the following manner:  I open DSZ first
  33. then DOS SERVICES second.  I down load my mail, switch to the DS
  34. window and start the <Alt-Q> script with the highlight on the QWK
  35. file.  This starts QMAIL and WP.  From QMAIL if I decide to reply
  36. to a message, the DESQEDIT.BAT file takes me to the :Switch
  37. Windows" menu.  I press the number for WP and the script
  38. continues with the <Alt-Q> script of WP.  The <Cntl-Q> script
  39. takes me back to QMAIL also through "Switch Windows".  The QMAIL
  40. and WP windows can be used by themselves to edit a mail packet
  41. without DSZ and DS.  The scripts ASSUME that QMAIL is window 3 and
  42. WP is window 4!  Also the <Alt-T> script is needed for entering a
  43. message; without it the procedure doesn't work (Sparky does not supply
  44. a dummy MSG file like he did in QMAIL).
  45.  
  46.      I have also added a {Alt-N} script in DOS Services that
  47. extracts the NEWFILES.DAT from the highlighted QWK file and
  48. appends it (without the header and footer) to \QMAIL\NEWFILES.FIL
  49.  
  50.      I hope that some of you find this useful.  I have learned a
  51. few things about DESQView scripts along the way.  I particularly
  52. like the Remove Dir macro that sort of fell out along the way.
