In contrast to Tiny-Shell, AVALON supports up to six different point setups and as many different poll sessions. BT314PLA BinkleyTerm ST version 3.14a <beta 10> - The latest release of the premier fidonet front end mailer written by Steven Green, Joerg Spilker, Otto Braendli, and Bill Scull. This folder contains the UPDATE files only - it is NOT a full release. BTNC186 BTNC version 1.86 is a nodelist compiler. This program is required for use with the Jetmail mail utilities. It CAN be used with BinkleyTerm instead of Parselist. However, most people prefer the nodelist generated by Parselist. FASTTALK FaST Talk version 1.00 by Dave Lockwood is a Full Duplex chat program, allowing both the user and the Sysop to type at the same time! And, right in the middle at the right is the current time updated every minute, so you know when to say goodbye. FaST Talk works with any BBS that can run external programs, AND with terminal programs like Flash that allow you to run TOS and GEM programs. Call a friend and chat without waiting. FaST Talk uses the Atari VT52 escape codes to control the cursor position, and any terminal that supports these codes should work. FBM_061 FilesBBS Manager version 0.61 by John Curtis & Mark Taylor was designed with the concept of creating a Mouse driven GEM program that can be used to maintain the file areas on your BBS. FilesBBS Manager was designed to work with any BBS program that utilizes a FILES.BBS format file (QuickBBS, Octopus, etc). Supports CD-ROMs. Shareware! JETDEMO Jetmail version 0.99 <beta 17> by Daniel Rösen & Jörg Spilker. This folder contains all files of the current JetMail betatest distribution. Jetmail is the fastest and best supported fidonet mail tosser available. Now includes a built in TIC processor. Shareware - read the docs for more info. LED_127 LED (Little Red Editor) version 1.27 by Stephan Slabihoud is the premier message reader for Sysops and Points that use QuickBBS ST style message bases. If you use QuickBBS ST style message bases then you *NEED* this program! Includes English and German documentation. Shareware. (The Sysop of the Crawly Crypt BBS uses LED and encourages others to try it!) LIST_233 BBS LiSTer version 2.33 by Robert Darling is an Allfiles list creator for QuickBBS and ProBBS SysOps. Welcome to yet another ALLFILES creation program! The author designed this one for his own use as he found all the others far too slow. Extremely configurable with lots of options and features - including support for various archivers, alphabetizing the file lists, and MUCH MUCH MORE! LOGTOOL LogTool version 1.00 by Andreas Boelt is a small utility which takes care of sysops with big logfiles. LogTool splits the logfile in one file for each day (the files created from LogTool are stored in a folder with the name of the month, eg. JetMail.1 in folder JANUARY for all log entries of the 1st of january). It can process logfiles from JetMail and Binkley Style systems (eg. Semper, AutoFile, QuickBBS, JamBala, etc.) MAKEU310 Make UPL version 3.10 is a utility that will create *.UPL files. These files are similar to the more common FILEID.DIZ files. MD_116 MakeDiff version 1.16 by Robert Darling is a nodelist creation utility used by NeST, TurboNet, etc to maintain their nodelist segments. A couple of minor changes have been made to Makediff, mainly to allow it to create the HATCH.SYS file required by Jetmail for autosending of nodelists. You may now define the path to write your hatch file to using the command HatchDir instead of AutoFilePath. Contains update docs only. MIND_UNR Mindless version 1.3 by Mindbomb Developments is an online BBS door for any Atari ST(ish) BBS capable of creating the now standard DORINFO1.DEF user file. It is based upon the familiar Grafitti Wall doors prevelant on most BBS systems, but expanded. It came into being as the author tried to find the above for his system, but was always disappointed by the lack of features or general lack of polish the existing attempts had. MRPNT112 Mr Pointy version 1.12 by Robert Cooper is a not-so-little shell for network points (FidoNet, AtariNet, NeST, etc). It works on all machines in all screen modes. The dialogue/window manager is based on FLDLIB by Martin Maisey, and takes advantages of the excellent WiNX if installed. NEST_KIT This is the NeST information pack which can be used by any user to obtain information on Network ST (NeST). Within this folder can be found complete documentation concerning the network, it's operation, and aims, as well as the machine readable nodelist (NeSTLiST) used for mailing within NeST. NITRO3 NITRO-Scan version 3 by Steve Barnes is a replacement for the built in QBBS mail scanner. This program is lightining fast! Highly recommended! PLST161 Atari ParseList version 1.61 [13-Dec-1994] by Bryan Hall and Bill Jones is a fidonet nodelist processor and compiler for use with BinkleyTerm, QuickBBS, and other fidonet related programs. The "Missing Nodelist/Nodediff", "End of year bug", and other minor bugs stomped in this version. Minor display and speed problems fixed. ROBOTWAR Robotwar II is a challenging door game of skill and luck. Skill because you have to plan each move carefully and anticipate your opponent's move. Luck, because you never know where the computer will randomly drop you at the beginning of each round! Freeware! SMP_AWK Semper log statistics using an awk script by Borek Lupomesky. This folder contains a set of awk scripts for processing logfiles produced by Semper. Awk is a Unix utility that can perform arbitrary pattern matching and replacing on a stream of data. It is especially suited for creating log reports. Requires awk and a good command line shell. ST_NOTE ST-Note version 0.05beta [11-Feb-1995] by John Richardson is a program designed to allow your users to leave a message to the next caller. Supports Ansi, VT52 colour/mono & ASCII graphics formats, allows upto 10 lines of text to be left, provides full carrier detect, has word wrap on editor, and takes users name and does a captilization, also allows use of 1 name without it being printed twice! TODAY201 Today generator version 2.01 by Mike Butler and Chuck Grimsby is another program to display events and occurrences on a date in history. Not as good as the Today program from Alex Rubenstein. USERPACK Userpack by Walu Software is the first of the NEW support programs designed to replace existing QuickBBS ST utilities. This program not only packs your USERS.BBS but also trims/appends the LASTREAD.BBS file if it's length is not correct. The program will create a LASTREAD.BBS if you have lost your old one. VMU_057 Volky's Mail Utilities version 0.57 [19-Dec-1994] by Volkmar Wieners includes HAI (Fido Point Importer), MAFI (MausTausch Importer), BYE (Fido/ MausTausch Exporter), ZAP (Message Base Cruncher). All docs are in German. ************************************************************************* ** CAD Programs ** ** \APPS\CAD\ ** ************************************************************************* CAD2 STudent CAD2 version 2.23 by Uwe Gohlke Software. It is a GEM based 2D CAD program. The program and all documentation is in German. CLA2R3A CLA Version 2 Release 3 (v2r1) by Craig Graham is a digital logic design and simulation program for the Atari ST/TT/Falcon. CLA is intended as a tool to enable fast prototyping of digital circuits. The inspiration as to it's approach to this is rooted firmly in the UN*X world, where several high end packages costing several thousand pounds offer similar features. The design part of the package supports the standard set of logic gates and a few librarys of standard components (eg, flip-flops, adders, etc) and IC's (the 74xx TTL series). A subset of VHDL is provided for textual circuit description. Shareware! FREE_DEE Free_Dee by Matthew Carey is a 3D Wire Frame CAD design program. The program will work without GDOS but if want to get a hardcopy of your creation you will need to install GDOS. JILCAD2D JIL 2D Drafting package by JIL Corporation. JILCAD's features include: 3D wireframe modelling, 2D drafting, IGES and DXF file compatibility, HP-GL and Houston Instruments plotter support, automatic/associative dimensioning, figure libraries, construction planes, 32000 layers, 16 bins, parametric macro programming, expression calculator, vector analysis, user-definability, dynamic menuing, instant icon access, icon pads, mouse strokes, on-line help, high precision (floating point) database, and MUCH more. Shareware! MINIDRAF MiniDraft version 1.10 by J. H. Taylor is a basic drafting package written in assembler. Includes a very nice and comprehensive manual. ST_CAD ST Cad version 1.2 by Yaron Kidron. ST Cad is a Computer Aided Design program, which uses the computer as a standard drawing board for designing purposes. Enables you to draw lines, frames, points, circles, ovals, arcs, add text, and much more. You can use up to 5000 points in your design, and upto 2500 layers. Lima. Program lets you print single labels from the Keyboard, print a series of labels from a file. Create a file of labels, and save the file for future printing. Append a label to a file you previously created, edit one or more labels within a file of labels,d elete a label from a file or review the labels in a file without changing the contents of any of the labels. ADDRESS STreet finder 1.0 by John Buchanan. An address database that keeps track of addresses and phone numbers. The emphasis is on the user interface. ADRES200 Address management as ACC/APP, dialogs in windows, colored icons, online scrolling/searching, dialer, XACC, drag & drop, in-/export, full text search, 3-step sorting, birthday warning etc. The unregistered version loads only 40 addresses, but can be upgraded to the full version with a key (available from the author). Shareware! AUDIO_B Audio-bass V1.0 BY JAMES TILBURY. This is a program which stores all of your songs by various artists in a data file enabling you to flick through them or carry out a search at any point in time. AW_INV AtariWorks Invoice template by Michael Hebert. The templates were created for the author's security electronics business. They may be used with appropriate changes of letterhead and address for almost any business that uses standard forms for invoicing. AW_RCPBK Recipe Book for AtariWorks by Michael Hebert. This "template" should allow you to keep track of all your favorite recipes using AtariWorks. AW_SCPBK AtariWorks Scrapbook by Michael Hebert. These are blank templates for creating your own scrapbooks. SCP_INST.STW is an AtariWorks document of instructions for using and creating scrapbooks. SCPBKV01.STW is a sample scrapbook volume containing 26 decorative initial capitals known as the "Morris" capitals. AW_VCR VCR Tape Database and Label Maker for AtariWorks by Michael Hebert. Now you can easily keep track of what is on each of your video tapes. CARDFILE CardFile version 1.1 by Tyson Gill. CardFile is a specialized data base which is valuable to anyone who uses a word processor for correspondence or keeps a record of addresses or phone numbers. It helps you organize business cards, will address individual envelopes, generate phone lists, or even compile address books. CAT3 Catalogue Program version 3 by Henrique Veludo. This Catalogue utility will output to the screen and/or printer or disk a directory of your disks using the file selector dialog box to choose the drive/path/filename. CDBASE cdBASE by David Becker is a simple to use program for organizing a compact disk library. It presents your CD library in a graphic format, allowing you to sort, search on multiple fields, edit, manipulate sublists and print lists of your CD collection! EASYD121 Easydat version 1.21. P.D. Database program in German has some English doc files. EZBASE10 Easy Base version 1.0 by Anthony Watson is intended to be a general purpose database that can be adapted to many common tasks such as Address Lists, Inventory, Checkbooks, etc. This unregistered version of Easy-Base is fully operational including saving and printing of data files. However, there is a limit of 20 records for any one data file. Shareware! FFIND_10 FILEFINDER version 1.00 by Ian Morrison and Al Hubbard. A floppy disk cataloguer that will load complete disk directories, file them in a catalogue file, search this catalogue to give you locations for a file.It will display these results on screen, or print them out in almost any fashion you choose. HYPERGEM HyperGEM version 1.01 by Timothy Raine is a hierarchical multimedia database designed to allow you to structure information in a logical way. Data is arranged in a series of 'Windows', which contain either text or graphics. Areas of the Windows are designated as 'Buttons', which when clicked on with the mouse pointer, bring up further windows. In this way, a branching tree of windows is formed. M_INV MUSIC INVENTORY version 3.2 by Larry D. Duke. Database program for music collections that requires cataloging for insurance purposes. GEM dialog boxes. QUICK_DB Quick Data Base by Tim Ekdom is a keyword index database program that basically only does one thing, but does it quite well: look up data fast. Each data record is associated with a number of keywords. These keywords are loaded into memory, so finding matches occurs very fast. The database is quite easy to use. STICKLER Stickler version 1.10B by David W Binnion. STickler allows you to create a file of important dates, weekly or monthly tasks, and daily reminders. Then, when these events draw near, you'll be reminded of them. Very simple and easy GEM interface. Shareware TAC_CAT TAC-CAT LIBRARIAN [Tucson Atari Central disk CATalog Librarian] Programmer: Sanford M. Furrow, IV Version: 1.00 "TAC-CAT Librarian" was designed to aid us in organizing, describing, managing, and expanding our disk library. Shareware THE_VCR VCR Organizer V2.20 by David W Binnion. This program allows you to catalog and print your video tape collection. A useful feature lets you quickly find the three most empty tapes. Handy for those times when a good episode pops up and you're out of tapes. The program also prints labels, but this feature is admittedly weak. TOUCH In-Touch version 0.9 by Lorne White is a very powerful and flexible database system for organizing and managing all your personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers and calender events. With a touch of the keyboard and mouse you can easily find and select records, or search for text and dates, get date reminders, categorize records, and print a wide variety of envelope, labels, address, and date books. ************************************************************************* ** Replacement Desktop Programs ** ** \APPS\DESKTOPS\ ** ************************************************************************* DMJFONTS Damien M. ED_PAT_2 Ed Pat 2 [Oct. 17, 1994] by m.j.waters. ED PAT is designed to help you edit monochrome IMG images for use as wallpaper in NeoDesk4. It can load and save images from 16*16 to 80*80 pixels in size (or, if you use a screen resolution of at least 1000 horizontal pixels and 590 vertical pixels, FG_ICONS A collection of icons for use with Gribnif Software's NeoDesk 4. GMN1999E GEMINI version 1.999e by Stefan Eissing und Gereon Steffens is a sharware replacement desktop for all Atari ST series computers. It has become the "standard" by which the others are judged. The program and all documentation are in German. HAZEL_4 Hazel is an adaptation of a golden oldie named H.A.Z.E.L. by the original author, Mr. Greg Knauss, facilitates trying out or experimenting with a variety of desktops. It is a boot-up, TSR program that takes first spot in the AUTO folder. If one presses the left shift key during booting, Hazel stops to offer a choice of desktops. LAUNCHER Launcher version 1 by Frank Vuotto. This program will launch other programs and then return to desktop. This Demo is fully functional but it does remind you to register before launching an application. MCR_NEO4 "Matt's" NeoDesk Icon Collection. These icons are all modified versions of icons that "Matt" has downloaded over the years. He has given (most) a 3D look. MICKICON Some Icons for use with Gribnif Software's NeoDesk 4. MONOTYLE Mono Tile by myeck waters Here are 41 more small monochrome IMGs, designed to be "tiled" and used as wallpaper in NeoDesk 4. These tiles were snatched from GIFs, BMPs and other picture formats using GEM-VIEW, then massaged with a program I wrote, ED-PAT. MOONTRK2 NeoDesk pictures and Icons + Warp 9 Pictures and fills by Carl J. Hafner. The enclosed files are intended to be used with NeoDesk, Warp 9 and/or Ocultar. Shareware! STWHIZ ST Whiz, by Hagop Janoyan. ST Whiz is a utility that allows the user to effectively execute programs without the hassle of searching through folders and data files, or having to remember the exact filename. TDSK140A The Tera Desktop version 1.40a is a replacement for the ST, STE or TT desktop. It provides many more facilities than the standard desktop and windows are drawn and scrolled much faster in it; It allows icons for files and programs and provides the ability to view files in windows. Manuals are provided in English, and Dutch. This card was laid so it would print on the author's KX-P1124 - you may have to edit it slightly to make it print in the middle of the page on other printers. BORDERS 6 IMG borders by Greg Evans scanned at 300 DPI using Touch-Up and the Migraph hand scanner. Although the actual image size of the files is small, they can be enlarged to 8 1/2 by 11 without any serious jaggies. CALENDAR A 1995 Calendar in Calamus format. CALFONT Font Show version 1.0 by Robert Gies is a Calamus font viewer. The program and all docs are in German. CFNLIST2 CFN-Lister version 2.0 Rev. 10.07.1993 by Thomas Kerkloh is a Calamus Font listing program. All documentation is in German. DRIVERS A fairly large collection of Import and Export drivers for use with PageStream. EASYMOVE EasyMove - Easy GEM and IMG file Mover version 1.2 by Chet Walters. Easymove will move your GEM file and will read it as it does looking for and finding the related IMG files. It will then copy the GEM file to the destination you choose and will bring along all the IMG files it finds while at the same time changing the pointers within the GEM file to the new location of the IMG files. Shareware! EYE_TEST An eye test chart in Calamus format. FASTPRT FastPrint by Andrew Brown is an accelerator for use with Calamus and the HP LaserJet (or compatible) printer. You will have noticed that Calamus takes a consistent eight minutes to print an A4 page, even when only a small portion of the page is used. FastPrint works by intercepting Calamus' printer output and eliminating blank lines. This can result in a drastic reduction in printing times. FONT_FIX Font Fix by DragonWare - The GDOS\FONTGDOS Filename fixer. This program is designed to help users of The G_MAN V2.0 through 3.XX correct the most common errors in the GDOS font name standard. Freeware! GDOS_F_L GDOS Font Lister version 1.0 by Heiko Gisselmann is a GEM based font listing program. All documentation is in German. GHOST GhostScript version 3.01 beta release 1 - a GNU project. GhostScript is a PostScript interpreter (similar in function to UltraScript). Included in this directory is EVERYTHING you need to get it up and running. GSFONT1 Fonts for use with GhostScript - part 1 of 3. GSFONT2 Fonts for use with GhostScript - part 2 of 3. GSFONT3 Fonts for use with GhostScript - part 3 of 3. HPDJ_ST PageStream printer drivers for the HP DeskJet series of printers. HPLAS_ST PageStream printer drivers for the HP LaserJet series of printers. These are birthday invitations the author made for his son and one of his daughters. In PageStream format! LYNXIMGS A couple of IMG format images of an Atari Lynx and the Atari Lynx Logo. Great for Atari related desktop publishing projects (like usergroup newsletters, etc). NEWSDISK NewsDisk by Tom Bellucco is intended for use by users groups or clubs that want to publish a disk based newsletter. You can create your own title screens and text files! Shareware! N_PUBLIS N_PUBLIS version 2.01 by Noud van Kruysbergen is for users of Timeworks Publisher 2.0 (and G+PLUS). If you do not use this program then N_PUBLIS is of no value to you. With Timeworks you can have different Printer Installations. However, when you are using Timeworks you can only use one printer at the time. N_PUBLIS allows you to choose one out of four printer installations, then copies the associated ASSIGN and WID file and starts Timeworks. PFM2AFM pfm2afm version 1.0 by Ken Borgendale converts Windows pfm files to afm files. Includes complete C source code. PGSMODST Modules and Drivers for PageStream 2.2. This folder includes the assembly language source code, includes and make files for the drivers and modules for PageStream 2.2. There is no documentation for these drivers or modules. Soft-Logik has never documented the format for them. PGS_CFG Pagestream Config version 1.0 by The Demon (Jeff Poling). Ever had to completely rework your PageStream ex/import drivers so that only certain ones would be used? You had to do it manually, renaming each module so it would or would not be loaded. PAGESTREAM CONFIG is a shell that allows you to reconfigure your drivers with the patented point-and-click method that GEM based machines are famous for. Shareware! PHTOREAL Beaver Prints is a relatively new company that is producing some really nice preprinted brochures and papers for the print industry. This folder includes some Calamus Master Pages by Don Harris for use with them. PPCNVT PPCNVT is a Publishing Partner to PageStream file converter. Should be straight forward. Just run it and it will prompt for files to convert and names to save the coverted file as. One limitation, you must use a destination file that is different than the source. PRINTERS A collection of printer drivers for use with Pagestream. PSCAPT10 PS Capture version 1.00 by Charles S. Smeton is a desk accessory that will allow the output from the GDOS PostScript driver (supplied with TimeWorks Desktop Publisher ST) to be redirected from the RS-232 port to a disk file. The file of PostScript commands can then be printed with Imagen's UltraScript or a PostScript compatible Laser Printer. Shareware! STYLUS_C STYLUS_C.PRT version 2.0.4 PageStream printer driver update has improved page formatting. Works only with PageStream 2.2. Will print in 180x180 dpi, 360x360 dpi and 720x720 dpi in full color on the Epson Stylus Color printer. Uses compressed data algorythm to transmit data to printer. ST_IMGS A collection of IMG format iamges of various Atari ST computers and peripherals including a 520 ST, a 1040 STe, etc. Great for user group newsletters. SUIZO Suiza ("Swiss" in Spanish). Here's a Calamus Swiss Medium font with Italic to go with the TIEMPO (Times) fonts. These fonts are Freeware. VIEWFONT Fontview by SKWare One & S. K. Webb is a GDOS font viewer program, and it's public domain. It will run in all STe resolutions (maybe more), but looks best in monochrome. It reports all data from the GDOS font header and features the GDOS Typewriter. WINNERS The winning entries in ISD Marketing, Inc's 2nd Annual Calamus Family Creativity and Design Contest. To recapitulate; the entries could have been either text, graphics or a combination of both. Submission could and did include; business card designs, logo's, fonts, freehand drawings, posters, illustrations, cartoons and graphical effects just to name a few examples, using any one of the Calamus family of products, including, Calamus, Outline Art, the Font Editor or any combination of the three. ************************************************************************* ** Educational Programs ** ** \APPS\EDUCATIN\ ** ************************************************************************* 1STMATHS 1ST. MATHS by Geoff Camp. 1st. Maths is a game aimed at young children who are learning the basics of counting, addition and subtraction. A short memory type game is included to give the child an occasional break. DEUCE Duece by Geoff Camp of Under-Soft (Australia). A game, runs in Low Res requires a joy stick. FIVEYRS This is a collection of programs written for a five year old or older child. All programs have easy and high levels to suit all ages. All programs run in low resolution. ADD.PRG teaches your child simple addition or multiplication skills. TANGRAM.PRG is a well known 7 piece Chinese puzzle. WEIGH.PRG. Is a program where the child tries to guess the weight of an unknown object. FOURYRS This is a collection of simple programs which may be amusing to a young child. All programs require a color monitor. The programs MIRROR.PRG, TILE1.PRG and TILE2.PRG are simple drawing programs. By applying simple symmetry operators, any scribbling looks interesting. COLOR.PRG uses the fill command to color outlined areas in a set of pictures. By superimposing textures, you can get interesting looking pictures. TYPE.PRG displays a map of the computer keyboard and you presses the letter in red to learn keyboard layout. HOMEWORK Homeworker by Geoff Camp. The word processor designed with children's needs in mind. Features include: fonts, large, easy to read print, all functions controlled by drop down menus or function keys HOMEWORKER is shareware. KSHAPESP Kidshapes Plus by D.A.BRUMLEV. For Children Ages 8 and Up and adults. A graphics design program patterned after kids magnet board sets. It is offeredd as CAREWARE. SATDAY94 SATURN'DAY 1994 by Ruiz Lionel. This program computes the positions of the Saturnian moons and plot them around the shape of the planet or in a well known diagram type. FTPSITE Ducky's Fabulous Delphi FTP Site Auto-logon STalker Script makes logging on to atari FTP sites through Delphi easier. The script knows almost all of the best atari sites, so you no longer have to memorize the site address. The script will automatically send the address to Delphi, then turns on binary mode, turns on hash marks, and drops you into the root atari directory on the system.
