Introduction
============
Easy Money is a fully relational database with facilities for accounts,
invoices, and transactions. Various search features are available to quickly
analyze your records. While Easy Money is designed for business uses, it could
easily be used to handle your personal accounts and expenses, or even as a
basic address book.
Easy Money was originally designed for Mountain Softwares internal use. We
had specific requirements and preferences that we wanted in a business
database. Easy Money was written to provide fast access and analysis of our
customers names, addresses, purchases, etc.
While we suspect that few users or small businesses will have the same
requirements that we had, we are making this program available as Shareware.
If you find the program useful, we would appreciate if you would register it
with us, and that you include any comments you may have about the program.
Accounts
========
The main menu is the account menu. This is where the names, addresses, phone
numbers, etc. are kept on your individual accounts.
Accounts are added by clicking on the "Add" button and entering the desired
information. Existing accounts can be edited by clicking twice on the desired
account.
Invoices
========
The invoice section is where you record the date, payment method, etc. of
each order. It is also the only place you can add transactions. The invoice
menu is accessed by clicking on the "Invoices" button at the main menu.
Invoices are added by clicking on the "Add" button and entering the desired
information. The date defaults to the current date, but may be edited if
desired. The date format must be maintained if you want the invoices to be
sorted by date. Once the basic invoice information is entered, a transaction
menu will appear for that invoice. There you can add or edit the transactions
for that invoice.
Existing invoices can be edited by clicking twice on the desired invoice.
Transactions for a specific invoice may be edited, by clicking once on the
desired invoice, then clicking on the "Transactions" button in the invoices
menu.
Transactions
============
The transactions section is where you analyze the results of your income and
expenses. The transactions menu is accessed by clicking on the "Transactions"
button from the main (account) menu.
Marking/Searching
=================
All three sections (Accounts, Transactions, Invoices) feature powerful
search features. The "Find" button starts a new search, and marks all records
matching the search string. The "Narrow" button allows you to reduce the
search parameters even further (For example, you may FIND those records
matching a state name, and then NARROW the search down to those matching a
specific city name). The "Widen" button allows you to widen the search
parameter to include additional information (For example, you could add an
additional city to the search above).
Individual records may also be marked/unmarked manually, by clicking to the
immediate left of each record.
Each menu also has three selectable options for displaying marked accounts,
invoices, and transactions. These allow you to "cross-reference" the various
sections. For example, you may mark a specific name in the account menu, then
move to the transactions menu and click on the "marked accounts" option. This
would display all transactions pertaining to the account you marked.
NOTE: Mark ALL records by doing a FIND for a space character or other commonly
used character. Unmark ALL records by doing a FIND for a "qq" sequence or
other characters known not to appear.
Setup
=====
The setup menu is where you enter various information on yourself or your
company for invoice printouts.
The left side of the menu displays a list of GDOS fonts. Fonts for the
printable data and for the forms themselves are selected by clicking once on
the desired font, then clicking the "Data Font" or "Forms Font" fields.
These fonts are used for all printing operations in Easy Money.
The top right of the menu contains the name and address fields for yourself
or your company. Click on the desired fields to change them.
The lower right is an .IMG format graphic that will be printed as a logo on
your invoices. Click on the field display and then locate the desired graphic
using the fileselector.
Version/Contact Information
===========================
The "Easy Money" selection in the menu bar provides information on the
program version, your serial number, and full contact information for Mountain
Software. If you have any questions or comments about this product, we would
love to hear from you!
Window Recentering
==================
Should the Easy Money window get moved out of position, you may recenter the
window by RIGHT clicking on the window title bar.
Appreciation
============
As always, I would like to thank my wife Peggy for her love, support and
patience, and my Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation. I'm thankful that Jesus
walks with me each day, and that he forgives me when I stumble...
