Welcome to the Creative Computers CD-ROM special edition!
First, some important points to note about this CD:
The Creative animation (accessed by Creative_CLICKME) may sync
with the audio differently depending on the speed of your computer and
the speed of your CD-ROM drive. You might expect the sound to come in
early or late depending on your machine. This is totally normal.
ALL commercial software is provided for demonstration purposes only,
and any full versions of software are provided WITHOUT technical support or
warranty of any kind. If you wish to purchase full versions of any of the
software (or any other software) call Creative Computers for the best deal.
Mention that you tried a sample on the CD for the best pricing information.
The shareware on this CD follows the normal rules of distribution:
if there is a request for registration, you the user are responsible for
doing so. Creative Computers and Legendary Design Technologies have not
paid any shareware fees or other such fees for the software in the drawer
"Shareware". Please read each programs documentation fully to understand
what rules may apply to you.
The text drawer contains a lot of text files that are compressed
using the PowerPacker library. They are designated with the ".pp"
extension. If your machine shows these files as garbled when you go to
display them, simply copy the "powerpacker.library" file located on the
libs directory of this CD-ROM to YOUR libs directory. Example:
1> copy Creative_CD-ROM:libs/powerpacker.library sys:libs
This will solve any problems you may have.
Also note that the AmigaGUIDE files expect a default tool of
MultiView, which is normal under AmigaDOS 3.x. Under 2.x and lower you
may experience problems, since the program is often called AmigaGuide.
You can eliminate this problem by creating an alias for Multiview to
AmigaGuide, or rename your AmigaGuide program to Multiview (2nd option
not recommended).
Some of the demos and graphics programs on this CD can cause your
machine to crash upon exiting (or may not offer an option for exiting at
all) but have been included anyway because of their usefulness. It is
recommended that you do not attempt to multitask any other programs while
using this CD-ROM, until you are familiar with which programs work and
which do not.
The shareware drawers all contain icons which indicate the lowest
version of the operating system they will run under (ie: 1.3+ means the
program will work on Kickstart 1.3 and up). This is a fast way for you
to determine if your machine will run any certain program.
This disk, in addition to software, contains some useful data:
GIF Pictures 1316
Mods 233
CGFonts 71
PostScript Fonts 71
The number on the right is the number of files!
THE ICONS DRAWER:
You may wonder what all of these icons are for. Many of the
icon images in this drawer are replacement icons for both commercial
and shareware programs. The nice thing about all of these icons is
that they are all a consistent size and design. They follow the size
specifications for WB2.x+ and will give a consistent look to your
Workbench. None of the actual application programs are supplied, so
don't expect to click on an icon and run the software.
We hope you enjoy this CD. Just for curiosity sakes, it was
developed using an Amiga 3000 w/6MB RAM, and a Toshiba 1.1 GIGABYTE
hard drive.
