The Adventures of Bouapha:
SPOOKY CASTLE
Version 1.3
Copyright 1998, Xtreme Games LLC & Hamumu Software
-------------------------------
Starting the Program
--------------------
To start the program, click the start button
on the bottom left corner of your screen, then select
the "Programs" menu. Select the "eGames Digital Exclusives"
folder, then the "Spooky Castle" folder, then click on the
"Spooky Castle" icon.
The Story
---------
Just recently, the biggest organ bank in all
of Bouapha's town was robbed of all its brains! The
brains, of course, were there for the ever-popular
brain transplant operation. Witnesses reported glimpses
of something big, green, and slimy heading for the big
castle up on the hill. Well, Bouapha won't stand for
brain theft in any form, so he suited up and dashed off
to the castle on the hill to investigate.
Objective
---------
Bouapha begins right outside the castle. From
here he can enter several different levels. As he passes
levels, new ones become available as doors open up for
him. In order to pass each level, Bouapha must collect
all the brains that are laying around, and then find
the exit. Perhaps if he passes all the levels, he'll
find the creature that stole the brains itself...
Controls
--------
Keyboard:
Arrow keys Move Bouapha
Numeric keypad Move Bouapha also
Z,CTRL, or Enter Throw Hammers
X or Shift Fire Secondary Weapons
ESC Options menu
G Gamma correction (brightens the screen)
Joystick:
Joystick Move Bouapha
Button 1 Throw Hammers
Button 2 Fire Secondary Weapons
The arrow keys will move Bouapha around the
world. Because he was never a boy scout, he does not
come prepared. He is completely unarmed initially.
You will have to find mighty Red Hammers as well as
the powerful Secondary Weapons in order to defeat the
spooky monsters. Bouapha is also somewhat absent minded,
so in between every level, he loses track of all the
weapons he was carrying.
The Options Menu allows you to load or save
your game, exit the game, and most importantly,
"Give Up". Use this when you find yourself in a
situation you can't seem to get out of, or a level
just proves too tough. You can try other levels,
and then come back to it later. Notice that when
you choose to load or save a game, it shows the
percentage of the game that is complete in each
saved game.
Hints
-----
* The Zombies you see wandering around have brains in
their heads - you'll have to extract them to pass
the levels!
* The Brainometer in the lower right of the screen
tells you how many more brains you have to find.
* There are four super-cool SPISPOPD keychains hidden
around the castle! Collect all four!
* The game can be won with less than 100% completion
rating. Hmm, what could you have missed?
* Don't get too violent - it's not necessary to kill
everything that moves, and trying to do so can
really wear you out.
* Keep an eye on the Enemy Life Meter in the lower
left of the screen! It'll give you an idea of what
you're up against.
* Save often! Who knows when you'll forget and lose
all your progress!
* Saving doesn't keep track of where you were in a
level, just which levels you have passed, so be
careful.
