- ^1 This is a sideways scrolling game aimed at younger gameplayers, and
- ^1is number 1 in what will hopefully be a `Just for Fun' series.
- ^1 You are a gardener and your aim is to grow flowers for the local
- ^1flower show. You have to dig the earth, plant the seeds, water the
- ^1growing plants, pick the blooms and take them back to the house. At
- ^1the same time you must scare away the nasty bugs that are trying to
- ^1eat them. Complete ten levels to get to the flower show.

-
- ^6[3BIG TOP FUN. by SPARX.[0
-
- ^1 This disk contains four educational prorams based on a circus theme.
- ^1This disk is called `Words & Pictures' and a version featuring number
- ^1games is set to follow.
- ^1 Word Balance is for younger children, you must match a picture to a
- ^1word so that the juggler balances on his unicycle.
- ^1 Matchplay is a game of pairs, turn the cards to match pictures with
- ^1pictures, words with pictures, words with words.
- ^1 Sealagrams is for older kids who can read. A clown throws lettered
- ^1balls onto the noses of the seals, you have to switch them to form
- ^1the correct word.
- ^1 Balloon Burst is again for readers, you are shown a picture, and you
- ^1must shoot the balloons that have the letters which make up the word.

- ^6[1Graphics by Colin White.[0

- ^1is set on the island of Nursree where all the Nursery Rhymes have
- ^1been muddled up. It is up to you to travel around the island sorting
- ^1everything out.
- ^1 There are many locations to visit, people to talk to and things to
- ^1get. You will meet many favourite nursery rhyme characters along the
- ^1way, some who are more helpful to you than others.
- ^1 To complete the adventure, you must complete all the puzzles to gain
- ^1100% score.[2 (For more, read about[3 SHYMER[2 in the[3 REVIEWS SECTION.[2)[0

- ^6[3AMOS CLI PRINTER DUMP ROUTINE & DEMO by DERECK RELL.[0
-
- ^1 This what every printer owning[2 AMOS[0 person has been looking for!! If
- ^1you've been wanting to print out from[2 AMOS,[0 now you can. The routine
- ^1can be included in your own programs, as long as you've bought an
- ^1official copy from[2 AMOS P.D.[0 or authorised distributor, but you
- ^1[3MUST CREDIT THE AUTHOR,[0 he deserves it!!
- ^1 As we are not printer owners at present, we do not have first hand
- ^1experience of its use, but we are told that it is very good.
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 32.[0
-
- ^6[3HARD DRIVE MENU SYSTEM by DIGITAL APPLICATIONS.[0
-
- ^1 Again we're afraid that this program cannot be described from personal
- ^1experience. We are told that it will be very useful to hard drive
- ^1owners to create their hard drive menus. It can handle over 3800
- ^1titles, so sounds worth checking out.
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 33.[0
-
- ^6[3AMOS C.A.T. by PHILIP RICHMOND.[0
-
- ^1 C.A.T stands for Creative Adventure Toolkit. As you might guess it
- ^1allows you to create your own adventures, including graphics and
- ^1sounds. The created adventure will be a stand alone program which
- ^1will auto run and is compilable.
- ^1 You will need to be able to program with[2 AMOS[0 to use this, but it
- ^1has been very well done. Due to the complexity of the idea, it has
- ^1taken a long time to produce and I should imagine, even longer to
- ^1test.
- ^1 There is an excellent docs file on the disk which covers everything
- ^1you need to know to write an adventure. It's a must if you've an
- ^1adventure inside you waiting to be written, but you don't know where
- ^1to start.
-

-
- ^6[3INVOICE PRINTER by JOHN DUDLEY.[0
-
- ^1 This program is for the business people among you who would like to
- ^1create customised invoice forms to send to customers. As the lack of
- ^1printer prevents us seeing it in full, there is not much we can tell
- ^1you. As well as design, it calculates the amount due for the items on
- ^1the invoice. (now have printer, but no driver!)
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 35.[0
-
- ^6[3T.TECHDRAW by TREVOR TAYLOR.[0
-
- ^1 This is, as the name suggests, a tech drawing package to keep all
- ^1you budding draughtsmen happy. You scroll around a magnified screen
- ^1using the cursor keys, to read the keyboard commands. The program's
- ^1main controls are via pull down menus, and there seems to be
- ^1everything needed to produce a good output, and on screen help is
- ^1available to get you going.
-
-

-
- ^6[3FRACGEN II.[0
- ^6[3by GARY SHILVOCK & M. NORMAN.[0
-
- ^1 There are many FRACtal GENerating methods on this disk which are
- ^1chosen via a program selector. If you'd like to see examples of this
- ^1program's output, checkout the FRACGEN II demo disk (A.P.D. 274). The
- ^1demo disk contains fine examples of FRACGEN II, and could be used as
- ^1a guide to what sort of fractal patterns the different options make.
- ^1There is plenty of information available via the selector menu and
- ^1also inside the generator programs themselves. The screens can be
- ^1saved as IFF. files for later use.
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 3.[0

-
- ^6[3ROCKET MATHS by DELWYN FARR.[0
-
- ^1 This is the long awaited new release from the owner of[2 THE WORD
- ^1FACTORY.[0 This maths program offers 3 levels of ability to suit a
- ^1wide age range.
- ^1 There are four sections in each `game'. e.g. to get the rocket to
- ^1take off, you must get 10 sums correct, you get through the starfield
- ^1by answering 10 more. It's a novel approach to doing sums.
- ^1 The graphics are very pleasing and should appeal to most kids.
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 38.[0
-
- ^6[3AMOS ART by SHOCKWAVE.[0
-
- ^1 Have you ever wondered how much better your games would look if you
- ^1could get your mouse on some decent graphics? Well, this is the one
- ^1for you to look at!
- ^1 This disk contains sprites, tiles etc along with a collection of
- ^1fonts for you to use. Please note that this is a Licenseware disk and

-
- ^6[3MAGIC FOREST II. (Son of Wilf)[0
- ^6[3by AARON FOTHERGILL.[0
-
- ^1 Cast your mind back to the days when[2 AMOS[0 was young....... remember
- ^1Magic Forest? This is the follow up, this one is done with TOME and
- ^1scrolls through the forest as you set out on your quest.
- ^1 Wilf the forest keeper has retired, so his son Wilfred is left to
- ^1gather the apples and keep the forest tidy. He is off to meet the
- ^1lovely Wilhemina, but she is hiding from the red nasties who are in
- ^1the forest. Wilfred must kill all the nasties and gather the apples
- ^1to rescue his girlfriend.
- ^1 The game is joystick controlled and has full instructions in the
- ^1program.
-
- ^6[2L.P.D. 40.[0
-
- ^6[3S.B.E. by The Blitter Boys.[0
-
- ^1 This is a very new and what looks like a very worthwhile addition to
- ^1any[2 AMOS[0 programmer's library.
- ^1 To quote fom the mini manual supplied.......
- ^1 `With the[3 Sprite Bank Editor[0 you can browse through your sprites and
- ^1pull out just the one you need for your new masterpiece. Version 2 is
- ^1easy to use, powerfull and flexible.'
- ^1 The instructions are clearly set out and very well pesented. The
- ^1disk also contains some sprites, but please observe the terms of use
- ^1set out in the instructions.

-
- ^6[3RESCUE by P. Ramsell[0
-
- ^1 As you might know, Déjà Vu Licensed Software now includes programs
- ^1written in all languages. This one was created using the 3-D
- ^1Construction Kit from Incentive Software.
- ^1 This magazine is really just for Amos programs, but this one is
- ^1worth a mention!
- ^1 The aim is to rescue the President who is being held to ransom. You
- ^1have to get around the town finding clues and money before freeing
- ^1the President.
-
- [2^6L.P.D. 42.[0
-
- ^6[3CROSS STITCH By Jeff Tullin.[0
-
- ^1 At last, a program aimed at female Amiga users!! Athough I don't
- ^1think that Cross Stitch embroidery is exclusively for females.
- ^1 Jeff lets you load in an IFF picture, select any part of it, even
- ^1change the colours, then print out a pattern!
- ^1 The pattern is printed with each colour represented by a different
- ^1symbol which is also printed at the bottom of the pattern so that you
- ^1can write in your colour key.
- ^1 It would also work for intarsia knitting pattterns, (picture
- ^1knitting) as this needs a chart to work on. I'll try this out and see
- ^1what happens, and let you know in the next issue. (Anne speaking
- ^1here!)
- ^1 It worked on our printer, Cannon BJ-10e without the proper driver
- ^1program, so there shouldn't be any problems for other printers.
-
- [2^6L.P.D. 46.[0
-
- [3^6CLIPART by The Magpie.[0
-
- ^1 This disk contains just over 300 pieces of clipart stored on IFF
- ^1files. This Clipart is ALL NEW and has been put together especially
- ^1for Déjà Vu Software. The disk is bootable and is complete with a
- ^1picture viewer.
