--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to this edition of T O T A L L Y A M O S.
We hope you enjoy it and will get in touch with us with your contributions
and ideas.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The magazine is divided into sections to make it easier to read. On
loading, you see the main index, to go into one of the subsections e.g.
REVIEWS, look at its number and click on the numbered buttons, in this
case, 5. a red light will indicate that you've clicked on a button,
then click on the RETURN button (looks like Return key on your Amiga!)
From the main index you are taken to the section index, here you can
choose the article you want to read.
Click on the numbers as before.
Clicking on the MAIN MENU button will take you to the previous index
section, so if you want to get back to the main contents page from
inside an article, click here twice.
When the article has come onto the screen, you can control it as
follows:-
Use the arrows on the left of the screen to scroll through the text.
Clicking the LEFT mouse scrolls a line at a time, the RIGHT mouse button
will take you directly to the start or end of an article depending on
the arrow you clicked on.
The arrows will indicate if there is text above and/or below the
viewing area by flashing in the relevant direction.
If there are viewable files in the section you're reading, a 'light'
will flash on the 'Requester' icon, which is on the right of the control
panel.
The music can be switched off and on by pressing `M' on the keyboard.
The music you hear is the file included in the music section.
There are a couple of new features which were not available in the last
issue. You can now print out the article you are reading (NOT AN
INDEX!) This is done by pressing 'P' when the article is in view. Don't
panic if you press it by mistake as an alert box gives you the option to
exit.
If you are having trouble reading the multicolour text, then pressing
"C" will give you a two colour reading screen. As far as we know, all
the bad colour combinations that were hard to read on a monitor have now
been sorted out, unless you know differently!
We think that's all you need to know, we hope you'll enjoy this issue,
and become a regular reader!
Len and Anne Tucker.
