Here's a quick run down on getting the best out of watching the
demo.
To view the entire demo you will need at least 1 Meg of CHIP Ram.
If you only have 1/2 a meg of chip and half a Meg of fast the first
part of the demo will be skipped.
Sorry about that, But it was not until i had finished compiling the
code, that i switched back to a 1/2 Meg of chip and 4 of fast that
i found that it did not work.
So i then had to reload the source code and do a few changes to it,cut
down a few screen sizes and monitor memory and then had to erase
memory blocks containing the blitter object code.
But this demo, will work fine on any other machine, But make sure
that there are no cli windows open, otherwise the scroll text might
flicker now and then (Another really bad side effect of Amos).
While the demo is running press left Amiga A to check the workbench is
closed, if it is still open press left mouse button to exit.
In the cli window type "Run vidi_demo-compiled" return then endcli.
if that does not work, type endcli and start the demo from the icon.
This demo has been a real Bastard to debug, mainly because of memory,
what i had to do was erase memory used by the bobs, samples, and screens
directly after calling them to the screen, so if i found a problem while
running the interpreted version i would then have to reload the code over
a fix the problem, save it and run it again.
In fact I have spent more time debugging the demo than i did coding it.
Lets see if any one out there has the nerve to better it, this is a
challenge to one and all, or shall i remain king forever ( ha ha ha )
until next month i am outta here...........
