1 Last name :
The above number signifies
level 1 which is the
composer's last name; each
line corresponds to the
letters A, then B, then C,
etc. So, by hitting ALT-A
you'll be able to paste
the first line, ALT-B the
second, etc. Note though
the string that followes
the level's number; this
is used as a prompt for
that level. Prompt strings
may be up to 21 characters
long.
Let's define some strings
for level 2 now which is
the composer's first name:
2 First name :
This is level 2: ALT-A
Hit ALT-B to paste this line.
3 LP title :
This is level 3, the name
of the composition. So far
for this level we have defined
new strings for ALT-A thru ALT-D
and ALT-F but not ALT-E!!!
See, by leaving the fifth line
above blank, we do not override
the default definition for ALT-E.
4 Contrib musicians :
This is level 4 which corresponds
to orchetras.
5 Producer :
Level 5 is reserved for
conductors.
6 Label :
You may define your own list of
labels in this level.
7 CD serial number :
And your own comments right here.
Notice though that lines
(i.e. strings) should not
be more than 25 characters
long, so most of these lines
will be chopped when you
read them in.
8 Keywords :
Finally, this is the place
to put strings to be used
when doing keyword searching.
2 First name :
See, I can go back to level
2 and give more definitions.
Note the blank in column 1 above;
a number in column 1 is a
definition of a new level
and a number in that column
followed by other characters
is an error. Also note that
I specified the same prompt
string as before; otherwise
I would have redefined it.
Below is an invalid level and
reading will be aborted:
9
You won't see this line.
