The Sound Blaster music card has finally broken the barrier between
IBM and those other guys. I must tell you that I am not putting the Apple
or Amiga down at all, every computer has its place. I personally own
several IBM compatibles and an Apple 512. The Apple I used for recording
music and sound effects for splicing into a Camcorder along with the IBM
for graphics on titles and subtitles. After using the Sound Blaster,
well lets say I now have an Apple computer for sale.
The Wurlitzer Jukebox Player program was written so I could select and
play several songs, sounds, or a combination of both, one right after the
other. If you have the same problem I do, that is keeping track of what
sound the file name is, then The Wurliter Jukebox Player is for you. It
allows you to enter a meaningful description for each file name and more.
You can play one song at a time or tag and play several.
I wrote the Wurlitzer Jukebox Player to be very user friendly. The
documentation is limited for this reason. When you are in the song
listing section of the program you can press the [H] key to display two
help windows.
** BEFORE YOU START **
You need to let the program know where on your hard drive you store your
VOC files. In your autoexec.bat file place the SET command to set the
environment variable "VOC".
Example: If you store your "filename.VOC" in a directory
"c:\sounds", this is what the SET command would look
like:
SET VOC=C:\SOUNDS\
Note: The last "\" after the word sounds is a must.
You need to also place the VPLAY.EXE file in the same directory of the
Wurlitzer Jukebox Player. The VPLAY.EXE file came to you on your Sound
Blaster disks.
I would very much appreciate any feed back about this program from you.
This is the first version and release of Wurlitzer Jukebox Player.
Please fill in any comments on the registration form and mail it back to
me even if you don't register the program.
In my opinon public domain software is the best way to obtain good
software packages. Lets face it, if we could afford to market our
software on the open market, I wonder where we would be now. I would
also like to take this time and tell you about another public domain
software package that In my option is the "BEST". I recently down-loaded
a program called Blaster Master written by Gary Maddox. After reviewing
this program I can't wait to register for a copy of it. Mr. Maddox as
without a doubt spent a lot of time on his Blaster Master program. If
you have not yet reviewed this program please do. You will no doubt like
what you see and can do. I am including Mr. Maddox's address for those
of you that can not locate it on a BBS. I am also doing this without the
consent of Mr. Maddox, I hope is does not hold this against me. Here is
the address:

I would also be interested in knowing your computer hardware configuration
for the sole purpose of tracking what type equipment the program is
running on without any problems.
