  3. program as Shareware for all of us to use and I'm sure you'll use it if you
  4. have a Roland D10/20/110 and others.  If you've looked around for a bulk
  5. load-dump librarian as I have, you know it's not easy to find one for bulk
  6. transfer with your D10 and others.  Send this guy some money if you use it
  7. it sure is worth something to me!  You'll find his name and address in
  8. the MIDI.TXT doc file enclosed.

  10. If you have a Roland D10 as I do, here is some help for bulk data
  11. transfer to and from your keyboard.  DON'T FORGET TO SAVE WHAT YOU HAVE
  12. IN YOUR KEYBOARD BEFORE YOU START LOADING NEW SOUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15.           EXECUTE THE MIDI.EXE FILE AND PRESS "P" FOR PATCH MODE

  17.               TO TRANSMIT A FILE IE:D10TONES.WRK TO YOUR D10

  19.  ON D10:
  20.  1)Press DATA TRANSFER
  21.  2)Press DISPLAY down twice to "ONE-WAY BULK"
  22.  3)Press UPPER once "ONE-WAY DUMP SEL"
  23.  4)Press DISPLAY down once "SOUND-RHYTHM"
  24.  5)Press LOWER once
  25.  6)Press ENTER
  26.  7)Press WRITE
  27.  8)Press ENTER
  28.  COMPUTER KEYBOARD
  29.  9)Press "T" on screen
  30. 10)Type in exact file name ie:D10TONES.WRK
  31. 11)Press ENTER (computer)
  32. 12)Screen will read "Do you want to send one block at a time?" answer NO
  33. 13)Your D10 is Loaded!
  34. 14)Press ESC on keyboard to clear your screen

  39.               TO TRANSFER D10 PATCHES TO YOUR COMPUTER
  40.                           (Do this first)

  42.  COMPUTER KEYBOARD
  43.  1)Press "R" receive
  44.  2)Enter a file name you choose ie:ORIGBANK.D10
  45.  3)Press ENTER
  46.  4)"Do you want to send a dump request?" answer NO
  47.  D10
  48.  5)Press DATA TRANSFER
  49.  6)Press DISPLAY down twice "ONE-WAY BULK"
  50.  7)Press LOWER once "ONE-WAY DUMP SEL"
  51.  8)Press DISPLAY down once "SOUND-RHYTHM"
  52.  9)Press LOWER once "SOUND"
  53. 10)Press ENTER
  54. 11)You'll see flashing notes on your screen in brackets [ ] when
  55.    finished press W to write the file to disk.
  56. 12)Press ESC (computer) to clear your screen
  57. 13)Guess what, you did it!

  60. Of course you must have a MPU401 or equivalent.
  61. I tried both bulk load and dumps several times and it works great for
  62. me.  I can't guarantee this will work for you, but it should.  And of
  63. course I am not liable for your use of this program or suggestions on
  64. how to use it.  It does work!  If it doesn't perhaps your D10's version
  65. of ROM is too low.  I'm using Ver. 1.04.  To find out what version of
  66. ROM you have power off, then hold down edit and data transfer buttons
  67. at the same time while you power up.

  69. I hope all of this reduces your learning curve a bit, and you will create
  70. new patches and upload them for all of us to enjoy!
