GENERAL MIDI FOR THE MT-32 v1.0
======================================================================
This Archive should contain the following files:
1. MT32GM1.0, This file contains timbre, patch, rhythm & system data.
2. GMText, Ascii text of the GM patch map approved by the MMA.
3. 22 files that begin with either PART or PRT. These small files will
help you manage the MT32 by turning parts off or shifting them to
different MIDI channels.
ex: PRT7CH8 programs part 7 to receive on MIDI channel 8.
4. Three Reverb & two Rhythm files, shift between 3 types of internal
reverb (room is default), turn Rhythm off or move it to MIDI Ch 16.
5. GM_MT32Doc, This file.
6. DEMO.MID, a standard MIDI file (format 1) of original music using
some of the new presets. Watch your overall volume, parts of this
sequence are loud.
Copyright CH&W Music 89-91.
======================================================================

IBM: MIDIEX.
MAC: MIDIEX.MAC

Using one of the above programs transmit MT32GM1.0 to your synth,
that's it! Your MT32 is now approx 90% compatible with the MMA
General MIDI standard. The small PART/PRT files will make the synth
even more compatible by making all 16 MIDI channels available.
It would have been nice to be able to program all 128 sounds, as it
stands half of the 128 standard ROM timbres are combined with 64
user timbres to form a compromise bank. The General MIDI path map
is included in this upload, (GMText) I suggest printing it out.
I welcome any and all contributions to this effort, if you have a
better Ac.Piano, Synth Bass, TenorSax send it to me I will consider
including it. If you have suggestions I would like to hear them.
I can support MIDIEX, DR.T's & MidiQuest patch format.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
REMEMBER! The ONLY way to access the new timbres in your MT32 is by
program changes sent from your Keyboard or by the sequencer.
