" You and Dr Dee quickly overpower
"the Cardinal who, in a fit of remorse,
confesses how he killed the Abbot with
"the atomizer. <I had to,> he croaks,
<he was going to tell the world about
the Bull and the Eleventh Commandment.
The others who knew about it had to be
"silenced also. For God's sake, you
"two, don't let the world know that
they've been the victims of a cosmic
joke for the past two thousand years.

"Think of all the pastors, deacons and
priests who will have to go on
welfare.>
" <Tough,> Dr Dee replies. <At least
I exulted in my sins. Your hypocrisy
"is the only true sin. What do you say,
Inspector?>
" You wisely reserve judgment for the
coming millenium. Or do you?

This is the story if you correctly befriend Dr Dee when Abbot Costello
is the murderer. Calhoon got a kick out of the Cardinal's bizarre
reasoning that a whimsical eleventh commandment would have that much
effect on 20th century Americans. He also enjoyed prodding the player
into considering whether <exulting> in one's sins makes them less
"serious. Well, which is it? Is it better to be an upfront sinner or
"a sneaky one? This, in a sense, is the underlying question of the
"mys-adventure, which Calhoon brilliantly sidesteps by letting the
computer's random function choose for him.
