  5. CONFIGURING SCREENWORKS
  6. The Installation program installs ScreenWorks by copying 
  7. the program files to your hard disk.  You now need run 
  8. the ScreenWorks Configuration program to select the screen 
  9. saver and wallpaper options you want.

  11. To run the ScreenWorks Configuration program, double-click 
  12. on the ScreenWorks Config icon in newly-created Cedco
  13. Calendar group.

  15. You can also run the ScreenWorks Configuration program by 
  16. clicking on the Screen Saver Setup button in the Desktop 
  17. Control Panel.

  19. You will probably want to reconfigure ScreenWorks from time 
  20. to time for variety.

  23. UNINSTALLING CEDCO CALENDAR 
  24. You can uninstall Cedco Calendar by running the 
  25. Calendar Uninstall program.

  28. UNINSTALLING SCREENWORKS
  29. You can uninstall ScreenWorks and its media files by 
  30. running the ScreenWorks Uninstall program and selecting
  31. the Uninstall option.

  34. PASSWORD PROTECTION AND SECURITY
  35. Although the screen saver provides password protection, this
  36. protection can be readily bypassed by simply rebooting your
  37. PC.  You should never use the screen saver as a means of 
  38. protecting secret or confidential information.

  41. QUICKTIME FOR WINDOWS
  42. QuickTime for Windows was automatically installed to your 
  43. system if it wasn't already.  If you have any questions 
  44. about QuickTime video adapter and sound card compatibility, 
  45. check the QTW.WRI file.

  48. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  49. The programs will not run correctly if your system does 
  50. not satisfy the minimum system requirements, which are:
  51.  
  52.      DOS Version 3.3 or better
  53.      Windows Version 3.1 or better (Enhanced mode)
  54.      80386 20 MHz processor or better
  55.      4 MB memory or better
  56.      256 Color VGA or better
  57.  
  58. The Installation program automatically verifies these 
  59. requirements, so you should not have any problems (aside 
  60. from possible QuickTime problems) if Installation ran 
  61. successfully.  
  62.  
  63. If your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements, 
  64. you will need to address any problems before running the 
  65. Installation program again.  If necessary, you can check 
  66. your system by running any of the following utilities:
  67.  
  68.      Microsoft Diagnostics
  69.       -MSD.EXE in the Windows subdirectory
  70.        Symantec Norton Utilities' System Info
  71.        Central Point PC Tools System Info
  72.

  74. AUDIO SUPPORT
  75. A 16-bit audio card is recommended for audio support.  An
  76. 8-bit card may work, but may not play QuickTime videos 
  77. well.
  78.  
  79. Although ScreenWorks can run without an audio card, you 
  80. cannot hear sound effects or video sound tracks without 
  81. audio support.  You can obtain low quality audio support 
  82. by using the PC Speaker audio driver, which can be 
  83. downloaded from CompuServe.  This driver can play audio
  84. files but not video sound tracks.

  86. To obtain this file from CompuServe, type "GO MSUSER", 
  87. select the Microsoft Software Library, search for "PC 
  88. Speaker", and download the file SPEAK.EXE.

  91. MULTIPLE CD-ROM DRIVES
  92. These programs search for media files using the CD-ROM drive 
  93. letter that you installed from.  If you have more than one 
  94. CD-ROM drive, be sure to put the Cedco CD-ROM in the 
  95. drive you installed from if you want to use media files on 
  96. that CD-ROM.

  99. NORTON DESKTOP FOR WINDOWS
  100. ScreenWorks is not compatible with the Sleeper screen saver
  101. program included with Norton Desktop For Windows.

  104. TROUBLESHOOTING
  105. Virtual memory is essential for running properly in low 
  106. memory situations.  Make sure that virtual memory is 
  107. turned on in the 386 Enhanced Control Panel.
