Walking tall with hair erect, and the rear end held high, is an aggressive posture. Crouching with the rear end held low is a defensive posture. An arched back reveals both fear and aggression, as the back legs push the cat forward to attack, while the front legs retreat backward in defense. PEACEFUL BODY POSITION By rolling on its back, this cheetah shows that it is relaxed and has no aggressive intentions, or that it is submissive.
