Welcome to The Atomic Age. Please read this document as it contains the
final update on installation and running tips that will greatly enhance your
enjoyment of this new CD-ROM title.
About this Hybrid CD-ROM
-------------------------
The Atomic Age is a hybrid CD that works on both the Macintosh and IBM-
compatible platforms. The Quicktime 2.0 software allows just one set of movie files to play back on both
platforms.
Installation on the Macintosh
------------------------------
The Atomic Age needs QuickTime 2.0 or later installed to run properly. The
latest copy of QuickTime has been included on the CD. If you do not have
QuickTime 2.0 installed on your Macintosh, simply drag it onto your System
Folder and reboot. Also included is the Apple Multimedia Tuner. Place this
file in your System Folder. If you have a Power Macintosh, drag the
PowerPlug onto your System Folder icon and then restart your Macintosh.
You must have System 7 or greater to run this disc. You must have an 8 or
greater bit color display to run the software. Check your color display
by going to the Control Panel and selecting Monitors.
Installation on the PC
-----------------------
The Atomic Age needs QuickTime 2.0 for Windows or later installed to run
properly. The latest copy of QuickTime has been included on the CD by the
installer program. Select Run╔ from the File menu in the Program Manager.
Type x: SETUP, (where x is your CD-ROM drive), and press Enter. Setup will
install QuickTime for Windows 2.0 on your hard drive. A new program
group will be created in Program Manager called Atomic Age.
You must have Windows 3.1 or later to run this disc. You must have an 8 or
24 bit color display to run the software.
For optimal performance
-----------------------
If you have 2.5 megabyte of free hard disk space, copy the Atomic Age
application icon onto your hard drive. Do not run any other programs while
running Atomic Age. For better performance on the Macintosh turn file
sharing off, turn "Calculate Folders Size Off" in the Views Control Panel
and do not use Virtual Memory.
