Opposed to the previous version of this player which was the result
of about 35 minutes work, this player took about a week to put
together. There are many differences in this version, the most
significant being that this one uses our new PS-MIK and NOT
GoldPlay by the CodeBlasters. The PS-MIK (Pyramid Software Music
Interface Kit) is a bit unstable right now, but it's the first
public release of a program using it. Because of this it would be
appreciated if you report any bugs that you might encounter.
The player was tested with 15 MEG of MOD files (both 15 instrument
and 31 instrument) and testing was done on a 386 DX with
SoundBlaster V2.0 and a 386 DX with SoundBlaster PRO.
The DAC routines are old routines I had from when I actually had a DAC,
but I modified them and plugged them into this code just for the fun of
it. If you have a DAC we'd like to hear how PS-Play performed, if at
all.
Oh, yeah. This MOD player will run in demo mode if you do not specify
a filename to play. The great music in the demo was composed by
Ian Wilson.
If you wish to play another MOD, simply type:
PSPLAY filename[.mod]
The extension is not important. If the file is damaged, or non-existent
the program will exit.

PS-Play is CardWare. We would appreciate it if you registered this
program which you can do by simply sending us a PostCard. That's
all it requires! What could be simpler? :-)
This player may NOT be sold or included in a commercial package
without prior permission from Pyramid Software.

What do we have planned for PS-Play? Well, I've always wanted to code
a spectrum analyser in ASM, so I guess if there are any enhancements
in the future, this would be one of them.
We will also correct any bugs that show up. Also, any major
improvements or additions to the PS-MIK will definately mean another
release of PS-Play. Perhaps stereo for SoundBlaster PRO owners? I'll
have to get one first. :-)
