What is Silly Little Mod Player?
Silly Little Mod Player is of course, an amiga module player.
It started as a 'TrakBlaster Front End Loader' (Summer Project)
about [07/15/92]. Found some small, efficient mod playing
routines. Implemented into the program and took out the
TrakBlaster information.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
So how does it work?
There are easy-to-understand menus. No problem unless you are a
total idiot. (Which is probably the case...)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Requirements/Limitations?
As with most module players, this is not fully compatible with
most Extended Memory Managers. Just disable the managers.
Anyway, for minimum performance, a 80386SX/16 is sufficient.
VGA is required for 50 column mode. Graphics will be
implemented a few releases later (Promised :) ). Silly supports
the Disney Sound Source, SoundBlaster, and PC Speaker. I have
not found any other compatiblity problems so far.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Does it play ALL types of modules (With *.MOD extention)?
Silly supports ProTracker 31 instrument, SoundTracker, and
NoiseTracker. I don't know about the rest, but that's all you
need. (Hehe)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Is that it?
Yes.
Cool...
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
I guess that's it. It's isn't too hard to use, and has some
cool options like :
o Toggle Channels on and off
o Slide Volume Louder/Softer
o Shell to DOS with roughly 350k left
-- With a 386SX/16 - 14.4k - 16450UART:
I get NO ERRORS while running Qmodem v5.01
and dowloading.
With a 486/33 16550A UART 16.8k:
Hah, your computer could download, play a
module and yawn.
o Change SamplingRate (This is too cool.. Hehe)
o Nifty File Display
Have fun...
