These are the Quick Docs for PROJECT NOMAD: 12-01-93
You are an ESI (Earth Special Intelligence) agent who has volounteered for a
Top Secret level one mission. Earth has recently been in contact with newly
discovered extra terrestrial races. Earth unfortunately is finding out just
how technologically overpowered they are in contrast with these alien races
by not being able to design and produce interstellar craft. That is until
the discovery of a alien spacecraft which recently crashed. With this new
technology close at hand, scientists on Earth quickly backward engineered
the vessel and now have the means to produce the ships needed to gather
intelligence on just what the situation is in the galaxy. So prepare for
the worst and hope for the best. Operation Nomad is a bold new game which
require concentration and alot of gameplay but well worth it. Take
Elite/Elite II/Star Control 2/Starflight, mix them together with interesting
alien voc's (Normal speech ran backwards), a easy interface, and plenty of
action and you have Operation Nomad. You adventure start's with your recently
repaired ship in orbit around Earth. On your screen you will see Brin O'Keef
of the SSA Pala Tec. He is of the Arden race and is wanting you to help him
fight a Voloc starship which is preparing to attack. Do you join Brin and
team up against a possible ally or do you refuse to help and attack Brin.
These are just the begginning of many situations that will test you logic,
memory, and reasoning skills. The graphics are polygon fill. Not cutting
edge but more than sufficient to pull of the illusion on commanding a
starship. The sound is digitized similiar to other Gametek releases,
A+ for sound selection and design, B+ for sound quality. Kinda like
FM mono. At any rate, worth a look if you are into star questing games.

GENERAL INTERFACE
Most of the game play is pretty much self explanitory. All menu driven
and easy to use. There are however some features worth explaining.
1) For speeding up time in the game (Useful for repairs and when your
trading droid flies out to rendezvous with other ships. The controls
are F1 - FAST, F2 - MEDIUM, and F3 - SLOW.
2) On the Known Space menu, you can "filter" out unwanted characteristics
of known locations by toggling on and of the various attributes.
Like Races, closet planets, etc... This is helpful for warping to areas
that may not even be marked on the star map like COMM stations. You can
select the destination on the menu by clicking on it and then clicking on
the engage button.
3) After combat, be sure to click on the engineering menu option and
start repairs on your ship. In conjuction with F1, you can speedily repair
your Starship.
4) Information is as a valuable trading commodity in the game as is actual
concrete cargo.
5) Seek to learn the political relationships in the galaxy. Learn who are
allies and enemies early. Follow closly the instructions allied races give
you.
6) The Captian's log is a good source of information when you need to
remember an event that transpired earlier in the game. Just use the
cursor keys to scroll the cursor on the screen.
7) There are many ship enhancements and "power ups" that can be found
and traded for. Learn what these can do for your ship. These things
can be toggled on and off through Engineering. Also be aware that some
of these items are limited use and must be used sparingly or you may have
to locate more.
8) When talking with alien races through Communications, try showing them
the objects in your holds and see what information they can provide about
a given object.
9) When trading with an alien, be sure to haggle offering less for more and
work your way to a mutual agreement. This can be done by changing the number
of items to be traded.
10) Weapons are pretty straight forward, just keep the crosshair's on the
enemy until your targeting curser turns RED. You are now locked and
ready to fire a missile.
11) When navigating by star map, use the IN/OUT button for zooming in and
out. Each star/sun is a system. There can be several stars in each coordinate
or square in space.
12) When you warp into a new system, it is very wise to scan for ships
to know exactly what threats might be orbiting the planet. If you
are out-numbered, get the hell out before you get targeted.
13) If you see an alien by the name of Leon Lett, DON'T LET HIM TOUCH YOUR
SHIP!!! You might lose the game!
GREETS: RaZoR'S FiNeST, THG (STILL.... playing Dungeon Hack),
Pentagram, TRSI, SPAZM and the rest of the scene.
3 days, 3 docs.... With more to come.
