  8. What it is:

  10. The Internet Red Address book is an online Yellow Pages and more.
  11.  
  12. 1. It lets you select sites based on catagories (eg. Movies) and
  13. site types (eg. http). You may use combinations of criteria and
  14. wild cards.  
  15.  
  16. 2. You can cut and paste the results of searches directly into
  17. your Internet browser, ftp, Email software (eg. 'Go To:' field
  18. in Netscape). 
  19.  
  20. 3. No more typing those long non-english site addresses!
  21.  
  22. 4. Contains numorous hot sites (over a 1000 of the very best),
  23. and the Registered version comes with even more.
  24.  
  25. 5. You can add comments and notes to the Red Address Book site
  26. records (64k per site record) Registered Version.
  27.  
  28. 6. You can add NEW site records to the Red Address Book (your
  29. own discoveries) Registered Version.
  30.  
  31. 7. You can merge your Red Address Book with upgrades, load text
  32. site lists, or share with friends using the Merge Books feature
  33. Registered Version.

  35. 8. The Red Address Book uses the latest release of a state of
  36. the art Relational Database for speed and integrity.

  38. 9. Contains a full interactive tutorial in the Help Menu Options
  39. and many more features.

  41. The files: 
  42.  
  43. The diskettes contains a file called INET1.ZIP, INET1.EXE 
  44. (SHAREWARE) INET2.ZIP or INET2.EXE.  You should copy the file to
  45. a tempory dirctory on your harddive before you begin if you want
  46. a faster install.

  48. Just type in INET1.EXE, INET2.EXE (or double click in the File
  49. Manager) to extract the files.  If the file extention is .ZIP,
  50. you will need PKUNZIP ver 2.04g or higher to uncompress files.

  52. Once the files are extracted, you must run the SETUP.EXE program
  53. from the Windows Program Manager (or double click from within
  54. the File Manager window).  Follow the on screen instructions to
  55. completion.

  58. diskettes.

  67. Only two reported so far (related to Ver 1.2B).
  68.  
  69. The Uploaded version 1.2B did not include the file MSAJT112.DLL.
  70. Oops.  Version 1.2C is identical to 1.2B except it includes the
  71. file MSAJT112.DLL. The uploads INETDLL.ZIP or INET112.ZIP 
  72. contained the missing file.  Version 1.2C was the same as 1.2B
  73. but contained the missing file.

  75. Note.  Version 1.2D and above no longer use the relational 
  76. database engine and are therefore much smaller downloads. Only
  77. the Registered versions ship with the database engine. The 
  78. Shareware versions are therefore much slower and less robust, 
  79. but download size warrents the change.

  81. Also reported with version 1.2B, was that the CMDIALOG.DLL may 
  82. not get loaded if the file already existed in your Windows 
  83. directory.  But the program asked for it anyway.  A work around
  84. is to copy the file CMDIALOG.DL_ from the distribution disk
  85. to your Windows System directory and expand it manually:
  86.     
  87.     cd c:\windows\system
  88.                  expand [enter]
  89.     asked for path and source file name
  90.                  [ a:\cmdialog.dl_ ]
  91.     asked for path and destination file name
  92.                 [ c:\windows\system\cmdialog.dll ]

  94. You may obiously use the file Manager to execute the expand 
  95. command, but it will open a DOS window for the input perameters.
