  11. There are *many* incredible Internet books on the market today.
  12. The following listings were copied, with the permission of the
  13. publisher, from "The Internet Yellow Pages" written by Harley
  14. Hahn and Rick Stout (and published by Osborne McGraw-Hill).

  16. Hahn and Stout's "The Internet Yellow Pages" has over four hundred
  17. pages of listings for various e-mail, LISTSERV, Internet mailing
  18. list, Usenet, telnet, FTP, Gopher, and finger sites around the
  19. world. I went through "The Internet Yellow Pages" and randomly
  20. picked forty-one interesting telnet sites.

  22. Before I turn you loose on the Internet, there are a few things I
  23. want to say:

  25.      -  The listings give the site's address, and the password
  26.         required. For example, if the listing said
  27.  
  28.                   Address:  squirrel.com
  29.                   Password: patrick
  30.  
  31.         you would simply telnet to squirrel.com, and use the
  32.         password "patrick" :)
  33.  
  34.      - If a site does not let you in, its probably because that
  35.        site is having some problems. If this happens, just pick
  36.        another site.
  37.  
  38.      - Please remember that your local Internet service provider
  39.        only handles the *local* part of your service. It would be
  40.        pretty foolish to call your local Internet service provider
  41.        and complain about a problem that you are having with a
  42.        *distant* computer :)
  43.  
  44.      - Remember the Roadmap code: YOU CAN NOT BREAK THE INTERNET!!
  45.        The Internet was built to survive a direct nuclear attack
  46.        ... it can take ANYTHING you do to it. If the Internet can
  47.        survive me, it can survive you. ;)
