  2.                             ROSEWOOD JOURNAL VERSION 4.02

  4.           Rosewood Journal  is an  Invoice Journal and  Accounts Receivable
  5.           "front-end" to be  used in  conjunction with  any General  Ledger
  6.           program.
  7.  
  8.           Rosewood  Journal keeps track of  cash and credit sales invoices,
  9.           payments on account, sales  tax (up to two levels),  and complete
  10.           accounts receivable. A General Ledger report tells the amounts to
  11.           be entered, and  the accounts  in which to  enter them.  Accounts
  12.           Receivable  lists are  aged (current,  30 days,  60 days  and 90+
  13.           days).  Customer statements  are  designed to  be  folded into  a
  14.           standard  business  window  envelope. These  statements  are also
  15.           aged. A label maker is built in. Screen colors and names of sales
  16.           taxes  are user configurable. Rosewood Journal is simple to learn
  17.           and  easy to  use.  There is  no  need to  understand  accounting
  18.           terminology. Entries  are made  quickly with  the aid  of softkey
  19.           macros and intuitive data entry.

  21.           The program is supported  by telephone, CompuServe E-Mail, or  by
  22.           ordinary  mail.  Upon  registering,  clients  receive the  latest
  23.           program  version  and a  file which  removes the  exhortations to
  24.           register. Distributors will be sent major upgrades.

  28.                                      REQUIREMENTS
  29.                DOS 2.00 or higher,
  30.                IBM or compatible computer, 320K RAM, printer
  31.                1 or more floppy drives or a hard disk,
  32.                YOUR "CONFIG.SYS"  FILE MUST HAVE AN  ENTRY, "FILES=15"
  33.                (or more).
  34.                                     DEMONSTRATION

  36.           The disk  that you  received or  downloaded contains  sample data
  37.           files for  a fictitious company called  "Ripley's Fine Catering".
  38.           The files are for January and February 1990. The best  way to try
  39.           the program  is to copy all  files into a directory  on your hard
  40.           disk or onto  a blank disk  formatted with the  "/S" or  "system"
  41.           option. change to  the directory  with the program  or place  the
  42.           floppy  disk into  drive "A"  and type  "RJ" <Return>.  The menus
  43.           should take you from there. Try entering new invoice data for any
  44.           month  you choose,  including the  demonstration months.  You can
  45.           view  or  print the  reports,  change  softkey settings  and  the
  46.           initialization or set-up file.  Rosewood Journal will complain if
  47.           you try to  enter "unacceptable" data  such as alphabetical  data
  48.           where numerical is expected.  Try it if you like  complaints from
  49.           your  computer;  nothing worse  will  happen  as the  program  is
  50.           carefully error protected.  When you  decide to  use the  program
  51.           with your own  "real" data, copy  the program "RJ.EXE" ONLY  to a
  52.           new  directory or a new  working disk. The  program will generate
  53.           its own files as required.

  57.                                    OPERATING MANUAL
  58.  
  59.           If you like  Rosewood Journal  after your first  test drive,  you
  60.           will  find  it useful  to  read the  manual.   The  manual  is as
  61.           succinct   as    possible.   It    is   in   the    file   called
  62.           "JOURNAL.DOC",which is, explicitly a part of Rosewood Journal.
