  5. The following is our current list of our shareware programs.   
  6.  
  7. These programs are shareware, which is a means of distributing software.  
  8. Under the shareware concept, software may be freely copied and passed along 
  9. to others, or distributed through bulletin board systems or national 
  10. networks. 
  11.  
  12. As a recipient of a shareware program, you may use the software for a short 
  13. trial period to determine if it meets your needs.  If the software is not 
  14. suitable, then you can discard it. If you decide to use it, you should 
  15. register it. As of May 1, 1990, all Cascoly games will cost $20 each to 
  16. register. If you include the version number when you register, we will send 
  17. you any more recent version.  Registration also entitles you to online 
  18. support via CompuServe.  Send email to Cascoly Software, CompuServe number 
  19. 76703,3046.  (We will also answer mail from registered users.)

  21. As an additional benefit, registration entitles you to a free introductory 
  22. account on CompuServe.  (Details will be sent when you register.)

  24. All programs run on the IBM PC family of machines.  CGA or higher graphics 
  25. board is required, except where noted.  A disk with all the programs on it 
  26. is available for $10 shipping and handling. (This fee can be applied in full 
  27. towards any subsequent registrations. )

  29. ATC -- An air traffic controller game that's perfect for a few minutes or 
  30. hours of fun.  Easy to learn, but difficult to master.  The game tracks best 
  31. scores at each of 20 levels of difficulty.  V 1.0 (Supports monochrome)

  33. BORDER -- a combination of GO and connect the dots, this abstract strategy 
  34. game for 2 players involves enclosing more area than your opponent, while 
  35. preventing them from stopping you. V 1.1

  37. ECOMASTER -- A diverting ecology game for one or more players in which you 
  38. buy and sell animals based on their abilities to thrive in different 
  39. environments.  Mildly educational without belaboring the point. V 1.1

  41. FICTIONARY <tm> -- The game of fantastic and farfetched definitions.  Each 
  42. round one player chooses a word that none of the players knows.  You can 
  43. choose your own word or pick one from the large selection included with the 
  44. game.  Then each other player makes up their own definition for the word.  
  45. Everyone votes for the word they think is the correct definition and points 
  46. are scored for guessing the proper one, or misleading other players.  
  47. Special rules allow play by 2 or even 1 player.   V 1.31

  49. The registered version of this program also includes a utility program that 
  50. lets you customize the word list that comes with the game.  You can even 
  51. create specialized lists for use as a vocabulary tester.

  54. Utilities: 
  55. CAPBUF is a memory resident (TSR) program that lets you capture any text 
  56. screen and save it for later processing or printing.  It is quite useful for 
  57. programs that do not otherwise provide means of printing their results.  Use 
  58. it for intermediate results of games, or collecting copies of messages while 
  59. on a bulletin board.

  63. UDECIDE helps you make decisions such as which software or hardware to 
  64. purchase; ratings surveys; which project to pursue; ranking; or selecting 
  65. colleges, movies, stocks, or wines.  You enter a list of elements by which 
  66. you will evaluate the contenders, optionally giving each a weight.  Then you 
  67. enter the possible options, and assign a value to each element.  You can 
  68. then sort to obtain an ordered list of the best options.  Or you can perform 
  69. what-if analyses by changing elements or weights.
