  108.          BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

  110.               This program was designed to be an intelligent front end
  111.          for PKWARE's PKZIP(tm) V1.1X  compression/archive utility.
  112.          One of the main objectives in writing this program was to reduce
  113.          the amount of user input required each time a file is ZIPPED
  114.          or UNZIPPED. The ZIP TERMINUS specializes in 'FLAT ARCHIVES'.
  115.          This program in no way attempts to facilitate EVERY archive
  116.          convention offered by PKZIP(tm). Instead, it offers a modest
  117.          selection of power options that will be of help to the beginner
  118.          or intermediate user in their daily telecommunication and archive
  119.          activities.

  128.          ***** INSTALL THE ZIP TERMINUS(c):

  130.               THE ZIP TERMINUS(c) operates most efficiently when
  131.          used in conjunction with a hard drive. You may also use
  132.          this program with 2 floppy drives or any combination of
  133.          hard and floppy drives. The minimum for operation is
  134.          (TWO FLOPPY DRIVES) or (ONE HARD DRIVE)
  135.  
  136.               PKZIP(tm) files needed are  : PKZIP.EXE; UNZIP.EXE;
  137.                                             ZIP2EXE.EXE;
  138.  
  139.               McAfee VIRUSCAN files needed: SCAN.EXE version 8.9B97

  141.               ZIP TERMINUS files needed   : ZT62C.EXE;

  143.               MS/PC DOS files required    : COMMAND.COM

  151.               HARD DRIVE:  1. Create one subdirectory for PKZIP(tm) and
  152.                               THE ZIP TERMINUS.

  154.                            2. Copy PKZIP(tm), ZIP TERMINUS and SCAN.EXE
  155.                               files to the subdirectory.

  157.                            3. Type the following lines pressing <ENTER>
  158.                               after each:

  161.                                         cd\terminus
  162.                                         zt62C.exe

  164.                            4. Press F5 to configure when you arrive at the
  165.                               main menu. c: may be d: or any logical drive
  166.                               where you have placed the TERMINUS files.
  167.                               cd\terminus may be cd\utility or any subdirectory
  168.                               on the drive where you have placed the TERMINUS
  169.                               files.

  173.                FLOPPY  :   1. Format a blank data disk.
  174.  
  175.                            2. Copy PKZIP(tm), ZIP TERMINUS and SCAN.EXE
  176.                               files to the disk. Put them in the ROOT DIR -
  177.                               not a subdirectory.

  179.       <IMPORTANT> --->     3. You must copy COMMAND.COM to the disk.

  181.                            4. Place your disk in Drive #A. Type the
  182.                               following lines and press <ENTER> after each:

  185.                                         cd\
  186.                                         zt62C.exe
  187.  
  188.                             5. Press F5 to configure when you arrive at the
  189.                                main menu.

  191.          NOTE: When using only floppy disks, operations may be limited by the
  192.                lack of free disk space. A hard drive is recommended. Also,
  193.                all files including COMMAND.COM should not be installed in a
  194.                subdirectory on your floppy.(put them in the root)
