  28.     EDDY requires MS-DOS 2.0 or newer, and uses about 180 KB memory.

  37.     4. EDDY.USE - Sample file to illustrate Point-and-Shoot commands
  38.     5. REGISTER.BAT - Batch file to print the registration form for EDDY
  39.     6. EDDY.DOC - Complete User's Manual
  40.     7. EDDY_HST.DOC - History of changes, by version
  41.     8. EDDY_REG.DOC - Registration form
  42.     9. EDDY_WHY.DOC - Reasons why you should use EDDY
  43.    10. VENDOR.DOC - Conditions for commercial distribution of EDDY

  45.     The EDDY files are packaged for distribution in two formats:
  46.  
  47.         Package format 1 contains all files in ready-to-use form.  About 450
  48.         KB disk space required, including documentation files.
  49.  
  50.         Package format 2 has the documentation files (numbers 6 - 10 in the
  51.         list above) combined as a compressed, self-extracting file,
  52.         EDDY_DOC.EXE, which was created using LHA.EXE, Copyright Haruyasu
  53.         Yoshizaki.  About 270 KB disk space required.
  54.  
  55.     Package format 2 is used for distributing EDDY on 360 KB, 5-1/4" disks.
  56.     All other distributions use package format 1.

  58.     Installation
  59.     ------------

  61.     1.  Copy all files to the disk/directory you'll use to execute EDDY.  If
  62.         one of the files you just copied was EDDY.DOC, the installation is
  63.         now complete.
  64.  
  65.     2.  If your set of files includes the file EDDY_DOC.EXE, you have the
  66.         EDDY distribution package format 2.  To install EDDY on a system
  67.         with no hard drive from this package:
  68.  
  69.         a. Copy EDDY_DOC.EXE to a separate, blank, formatted diskette.  The
  70.            decompressed documentation files won't fit on a single 360K
  71.            floppy with the other EDDY files.
  72.  
  73.         b. To access the documentation files, run EDDY_DOC.EXE from this
  74.            separate diskette.  This will decompress the User's Manual and
  75.            other information files.  These files will require about 250 KB
  76.            of disk space when decompressed.

  78.     Once EDDY is installed, the simplest way to get familiar with it is to
  79.     just type "EDDY" and [Enter].  There is no danger of damage to your disk
  80.     data, because no changes will be made to any of your directories or
  81.     files unless you explicitly tell EDDY to do so.  A message telling you
  82.     what is about to occur is always displayed, and a confirmation keypress
  83.     is always required.

  89.     EDDY is supplied as-is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed
  90.     or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchant-
  91.     ability and the warranties of fitness for any purpose.  Copies of the
  92.     program may not be sold for more than the cost of the medium they are
  93.     copied on, plus reasonable handling charges.  EDDY and its User's Manual
  94.     may be copied ad lib provided all files, including the author's
  95.     copyright notice and disclaimers of warranty are reproduced in full.

  97.     Although EDDY is distributed in this way, it is NOT free and is NOT in
  98.     the public domain.  After a reasonable trial period, if you find EDDY to
  99.     be useful and satisfactory to you, and you continue to use EDDY, then
