This is the 0.8.0 beta release. Enjoy!
Symbols can be typed directly on the CHART card, and see any plot
you want to without entering it into your portfolio.
Indices ($SPX, $INDU, $COMPQ) can be typed into the index field
and see that index plotted against any stock. Another stock symbol
can also type there also, and see two stocks plotted together.
The second symbol is offset to start at the same place on the chart,
and scaled to reflect similar percent change as similar vertical
displacement.
The CHART table includes OPEN and P/E RATIO.
The Preferences card now includes a BID/ASK data select button.
BID/ASK is available for NASDAQ stocks only.
The Preferences card now includes a Time data select button. Time
shows the last time the stock was updated.
The company name is at the top of the chart.
New Prediction indicator is on the Price configuration list. It
shows the neural model output for any stock for as long as the
model has been running. Bar graph coloring shows the strength of
the opinion white near the zero line. Color changes in the
positive direction shows the stock performing better than the
market average and in the negative direction shows the stock to
be performing worse than the market average.
Ratings below -200 predict performance much worse than market
average. (RED)
Ratings between -200 and -100 predict performance worse than
market average (magenta)
Ratings between -100 and +100 predict average performance. (white)
Ratings between +100 and +200 predict performance better than
market average. (yellow)
Ratings above +200 predict performance much better than market
average. (green)
The RS indicator (relative strength) uses the selected index or
stock for comparison.
The News Card
This card allows the user to enter the ticker symbol of a stock
the user is interested in and receive links(blue text) to news
feeds related to that company and the stock. This page also works
as a basic browser that allows users to click on these links and
then go to these stories and provides a BACK button to go to the
previous page like a normal browser. A GO button is used to start
the news search after typing in a ticker symbol.
Also, a news button replaces the button that shows how many days
are displayed on the chart that will allow a news search of the
current stock on the chart card without having to manually change
cards and type it in.
Stocks now darken in the quoteminder when they update. If they
remain dark that means the stock did not update that time for
some reason.
Symbol menu item has two new subitems.
Symbol->News, Links to news page for last stock selected
Symbol->Export, exports data to file in a selected form that can
then be imported by another program(Quicken,Excel).
The full path and file name must be entered.
(There is no Browse button working because of Java
shortcomings with its functionality that affected other
operations, we will work around this in a future release)
