  2. *                            The Daggerfall Demo                             *

  5. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
  6.  
  7.     Daggerfall requires a minimum configuragion of a 486/50 or faster
  8. processor with 8 megs of RAM in order to run. However, a pentium is
  9. recommended. You will need 50 megabytes of disk space in order to run the
  10. demo.
  11.  
  12. TO INSTALL:
  13.  
  14.     To install Daggerfall on your system, you will need a zip
  15. decompression program. When unzipping the archives, make sure to preserve the
  16. directory information. in PKUNZIP, this can be done with the -d option.
  17. This command may vary with other utilities so please be aware of this when
  18. you are unpacking the archive.

  20. RUNNING DAGGERFALL:
  21.  
  22.     Before running the demo, make sure to run the setsound program.
  23. Daggerfall itself can be ran by entering 'dagger' from the DOS command line
  24. prompt. A file called readme.dag is located in the demo directory which
  25. contains useful information about how to play the game. Please read that file
  26. before running the game.

  28. KNOWN PROBLEMS & BUGS:
  29.  
  30.     Disk caching programs, such as Smartdrive, should not use the write
  31. behind feature (also called write caching). The DAGGER.BAT file includes a
  32. line which turns off write behind for Smartdrive (SMARTDRIVE 32 32 /X). If
  33. you are having trouble getting enough free memory to run the demo, delete
  34. this line and make sure that your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT file does not
  35. load any disk cache or other TSR that uses extended memory.
  36.     Daggerfall has not yet been tested under Win95. It may or may not
  37. work. Also, the demo currently does not work with the Matrox Millenium card. A
  38. fix will be released as soon as possible.
