  11. INSTALLATION:
  12. =============

  14.     To install BarBack, unzip the barbk40u.zip file to
  15. a temporary directory on your hard disk.  Then run the 
  16. setup.exe program and follow the instructions on the screen.

  18. OVERVIEW:
  19. =========
  20.  
  21.     BarBack is a bartender's reference rendered in 
  22. electronic form.  There are over 5800 drink recipes in 
  23. BarBack 4.0.  That is more than any bartender's book you 
  24. can buy.  
  25.     BarBack also has some special features that would 
  26. simply not be possible in a book and are also not commonly 
  27. found in other computerized guides.

  29. FEATURES:

  32. Searches:  BarBack has the ability to search based on name,
  33.     ingredient, recipe, category, and glassware.
  34.  
  35. Views:  BarBack can organize the drink list into six 
  36.     different views:  Name, Liquor, Glassware, Category, 
  37.     Marked, and Liquor Cabinet. 
  38.  
  39. Drink Marking:  You can mark drinks that you like or that 
  40.     interest you and come back to them later.  There is a 
  41.     view that shows only marked drinks and there is a 
  42.     print feature that only prints the marked drinks.

  44. Printing:  BarBack now includes (in the registered version 
  45.     only) the ability to print on index cards with one
  46.     drink per page.  This allows you to make a handy card 
  47.     file of popular drinks to keep near your bar.

  49. Liquor Cabinet:  You let barback know what ingredients you
  50.     have and it will tell you what drinks you can make.  
  51.     Can include inexact matches.
  52.  
  53. Shopping List:  You select the drinks you want and BarBack 
  54.     will create a shopping list of ingredients and amounts 
  55.     for you.

  57. Ingredient Highlighting:  Every recipes now highlights any
  58.     ingredients that you are missing in a different color.  
  59.     You can change the color or turn this feature off if 
  60.     you want.

  62. Ingredient Cost:  You can enter in the cost of ingredients 
  63.     and BarBack will use this information to calculate the 
  64.     cost of each drink.

  66. Drink Price:  You can set prices for each drink based on a 
  67.     markup from the cost or based on a markup (or down) 
  68.     from the current price.  You can even specify rounding 
  69.     and a minimum price.

  72. REGISTRATION:

  75.     BarBack for Windows 4.0 is a shareware program which 
  76. means that a registration fee is required if you find the 
  77. program useful and you continue to use it past the 30 day 
  78. registration period.

  80.     Registration of BarBack entitles you to the complete 
  81. drink database (currently 5882 drinks) and the ability to 
  82. print drinks in three formats, including the new "index" 
  83. format as well as the ability to export the drink list to a 
  84. text format or a database format so you can do whatever you 
  85. want with it.  You also get the 42 page printed user guide.
