  1. --------------------  IMPORTANT MESSAGE  ---------------------------
  2. There are  times  you  need  to re-install the  Crossword Companion !
  3. In this case you  MUST FIRST BACKUP all files ending in *.ENC & *.INI
  4. also where available FTEBOOK.USR,  contained in the program directory
  5. After you have re-installed the program, copy all files back into the
  6. appropriate  program  directory,  replacing  the re-installed  files.
  7. --> THIS APPLIES ONLY when you have added your own libraries, or have
  8. added more words to the Future Trend Enterprise Edition.

  10. --------------- DUE TO CHANGES FOR WIN'98 COMPATIBILITY -------------
  11. If  you  already  have Crossword Companion v3.1.0 you MUST follow the 
  12. steps above, if you have added a new library or you have  added  more
  13. words to the Future Trend Enterprise Editon.    Failing to do so will
  14. result in the lost of all data.  After you have backed up  all files,
  15. as mentioned above, uninstall the Crossword Companion v3.1.0,   after
  16. you have installed this version,   copy your data files back into the
  17. program directory, over writing the newly installed files.    Run the
  18. program and select Convert 3.1.0 files NOW located in the  HELP-Menu.
  19. This will convert the old data files to the new  database  structure.
  20.                    Your work was not in vain.

  22. DO NOT DELETE FILE FTEBOOK.NEW the program will look for this file to
  23. upgrade your old FTEBOOK.INI file.   FTEBOOK.NEW will then be deleted
  24. automatically.
