===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
This package contains TasPhoto, a Photo-CD viewer and organizer, by
Tasman Software. This document contains only a brief description of
the package and its features, along with instructions for its
installation.
If you ever take photographs then check out Photo-CD and TasPhoto. When
you have a film processed ask for a Photo-CD. Many film processors now
offer Photo-CD in addition to prints or slides. A single CD will hold
over 100 photographs - you can take your CD back with your next film to
have your new photographs added.
TasPhoto brings captured moments to life on your screen. With TasPhoto
you can
* Create shows of the photographs on your Photo-CD's
* View your shows
* one photograph at a time filling the screen (this is like having 10x8
inch prints at a fraction of the cost).
* up to 16 photographs at once at smaller sizes
* Add captions and descriptions to appear on the screen with your
photographs.
* Adjust the
* brightness * color * contrast * sharpness
of your photographs. TasPhoto can remember your adjustments.
TasPhoto is a shareware program. This evaluation version includes
all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way. You may
use it for up to 30 days, without charge. If you like the program, and
wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required
to pay for the program (see the TasPhoto help for more details). Any fee
you may have paid to others(disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this
evaluation version was afee for their copying and distribution services,
rather than a payment for continued use of the program.

===== Installation =====================================
The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
TasPhoto.
INSTALLING FROM DISKETTE
To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
WINDOWS 3.1
1. In Program Manager select File then Run...
2. In the "Command Line" box type:
A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL) and click O.K.
WINDOWS 95
1. Select Run... from the Start button.
2. In the Open box of the Run window type:
A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL) and click O.K.
INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
If you downloaded TasPhoto from a BBS (or received it in the form of
archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
following steps.
1. Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
directory on your hard drive. The procedure for doing this
varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
perform this step. If not, you should be able to obtain
directions for this from the same source from which you received
the package.
2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted. For
example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
TasPhoto is C:\TEMPDIR, you would do:
WINDOWS 3.1
1. In Program Manager select File then Run...
2. In the "Command Line" box type:
C:\TEMPDIR\INSTALL and click O.K.
WINDOWS 95
1. Select Run... from the Start button.
2. In the Open box of the Run window type:
C:\TEMPDIR\INSTALL and click O.K.
When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed <product>
(C:\TEMPDIR, in the above discussion), including all its contents.
YOU'RE READY TO GO
