Screen Thief 95 v1.02
Copyright (C) 1994-1996 Nildram Software, All Rights Reserved.
README.TXT Installation notes and Errata.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation - Registered and Retail versions
---------------------------------------------
Insert the disk supplied into your 'A' floppy drive. Access the
drive from the Explorer within Windows 95, and locate the SETUP.EXE
program. Double click on the file name or icon to run it. Simply
follow the instructions and the installation will run automatically.
Installation - Test Drive version
---------------------------------
If you obtained the Test Drive version on disk you will be able to
follow the instructions above for the registered version. If you
obtained the Test Drive version from the Nildram BBS or Web site,
you will first need to unpack the ZIP file onto a floppy disk or
a folder on one of your hard drives. Now locate the SETUP.EXE
program as above and simply run for an automatic install, following
the prompts.
Overwriting a older version
---------------------------
The Screen Thief 95 installation routine automatically handles any
overwriting of a Test Drive version with a registered version, or
upgrading from an older to a newer version of the registered pack.
Running Screen Thief 95
-----------------------
Run as you would any other Windows 95 application, either from an
Explorer window, by clicking on the icon installed into a Program
Manager style group, by clicking on any desktop icon, or through
whatever other facilities any replacement shell, desktop manager
or file manager provides. We suggest you read through the Screen
Thief 95 Help System first and get to know the program. Although
Screen Thief 95 is not a particularly complex program once you are
acquainted with its way of working, it does have some quirks owing
to its heavy reliance on the way Windows 95 works. In a great many
respects it should be treated as a system tool, not an application
in the sense of a database or word processor.
License Agreement
-----------------
It is essential that all users read the licence agreement topic in
the help file, plus the supplement agreement for the Test Drive
version, and only run Screen Thief 95 if you agree to abide by the
terms and limitations described there.
Errata and Last Minute Changes.
-------------------------------
The method used to generate image window names has changed. Please
open the Naming tab of the Preferences dialog and reset your image
naming preferences before performing any captures.
The library and help files are no longer held in a separate SYSTEM
directory beneath the main Screen Thief 95 home directory. During
installation all files within "Screen Thief 95\System" are deleted
and the directory removed. If you have placed any other files in
this directory and don't want them deleting you MUST move the files
out of there before installing.
Please ignore the disabled section in the Naming preferences dialog
as 'embedded' items have no relevance in this release.
