allows creation of hypertext links between them with simple drag & drop
operations. It's an excellent writing & research tool, and a
free-format PIM. WhizNotes is also an easy to use Help Authoring System!
If you have the help compiler installed, just a click can turn your
notes into Windows Help files! Use WhizNotes to create your own
hypertext reference notes; to organize your tasks; to study any subject;
to keep a journal; to author a help file, or simply to reorganize your
thoughts. Runs on both Win3.1 and Win95.

INTRODUCTION:

links by a simple drag and drop. The advantage of hypertext is that
you can jump from note to note by double-clicking on these links. In
WhizNotes' hypertext scheme, any note which is not already open is
opened for you and if the note is contained in another folder, even that
folder is opened for you. AND THAT IS NOT ALL! WhizNotes is also a Help
authoring system. Turn your notes into "WINDOWS hypertext help" easily
and effortlessly.

Combine this with the ability to give long names to the notes and the
folders, and you will be delighted with how much you can accomplish with

To get a quick demo of help generation, open and compile the Sample
WZN folder SAMPLHLP.WZN. Also see "Introduction" and other introductory

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

WhizNotes can run on Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or later. For authoring
Windows Help files with WhizNotes, you'll need to additionally install
Microsoft help compiler 3.1, or later. For more details on compilers,
please see the online help topic "Setting up the Help Compilation
environment."


INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Run the Setup program provided with WhizNotes by double-clicking on
   SETUP.EXE in the Explorer or File Manager.

2. Enter your name and other information as desired then push "Proceed
   with Installation".

3. Follow the prompts till the "Installation Complete" message appears.

Setup will add a WhizNotes group and icon in the program manager. By
default, WhizNotes will be installed in the directory C:\WHIZNOTS, but
Setup allows you to change it.

RUNNING THE PROGRAM:
   On Windows 95: You can always run the program from Start menu:
   "Start-Programs-WhizNotes-WhizNotes".

   On Windows 3.1: You can always start the program from the Program
   Manager's program group "WhizNotes" which is created for you.

   STARTUP TIPS AND TRICKS:
   Also see Help Topic "Startup tips and tricks" for more useful
   information on how to create shortcuts for the program and its
   document files.
