Terminal Velocity is a 3D style blast ΓÇÿem up game which allows you 360 degrees of total movement. The latest entry in the Descent/Magic Carpet programming genre, Terminal Velocity plunders the tunnel shooting mayhem of Descent and transports it outdoors into a fully rendered Magic Carpet-like environment.
The plot is paper thin. In your search for specific targets, you must fight an array of enemy tanks and planes which try to shoot you out of the sky. The nine worlds on which you battle are are huge and feature fully detailed, beautifully rendered mountains, valleys, clouds and buildings which make the flying as much fun as the fighting. Your only hope for survival is to acquire the power ups curiously left behind in the wake of enemy explosions. Fortunately the controls are very easy to use, and anyone with a joypad will be decimating the enemy aircraft in no time.
Velocity also features Descent-style tunnel action, which is best played on automatic pilot as youΓÇÖll be too busy firing laser blasts to have time to steer the plane. The fast action, SVGA graphics, eight player network and two player modem setup make Terminal Velocity a great blast-a-thon, and should not be missed by people running only the shareware version. Terminal Velocity hits the wall early and pulls the throttle all the way wide.
