Greetings! The file, VIEWBDF.ZIP, contains the following files:
README.1ST - This file.
VIEWBDF.EXE - The ViewBDF program designed to read X11R4
.bdf font files with font size 16x16 or smaller.
VBRUN100.DLL - ViewBDF is written with MS Visual Basic. This
DLL file is required to run the VB programs.
CHAR.BDF - A sample .bdf file. Remember, the .bdf file must
be pure ASCII TEXT file with line breaks. If ViewBDF
have problem to read the .bdf file, use any
wordprocessor to retrieve the file as TEXT and then
save it as TEXT(with breaks--> line breaks).
SAMPLE.BMP - A sample .bmp file saved by ViewBDF.
I know this program may become handy in some ways to some people, so I
am willing to contribute my efforts on this version to support the
shareware concept. Therefore, you are free to duplicate or re-distribute
it for NON-commercial purposes. AND OF COURSE YOU SHOULDN'T SELL IT
FOR MONEY WITHOUT MY PERMISSION(although I didn't put ANSI 0169 in my
program, I do plan to register copyrights for future upgraded versions :-) ).
For those who are more intested in ViewBDF's source codes, please DO NOT
ask for them. I know VB samples are still rare on any PD sites, but
MicroSoft had done a very good job on the VB, its on-line help and its two
manuals. If you want to be a serious MS Windows applications developer using
VB, those sources are good enough to help you.(Disclaimer: I don't have any
relationship with MicroSoft.)
If you have any comments and bug reports, feel free to send them to me
through Internet e-mail(tcheng@ucs.indiana.edu).
Well now, ENJOY the fun of using ViewBDF, hope it can really do you
some good!
