ocr: The old Victorian Fort is now home to various species of bats, such as the brown long- eared bat, noctule bat and natterers bat who find its damp andcool temperatures an ideal home: Bats have veryspecial protectionin this country and the National Trust has all 14 species of British bat on its lands. The fort has a special grill onits door which stops people from getting into the unsafe fort, but allows the bats to fly out between the bars tohunt forfood.
