OCR: Scrl In the past, scrub used to be kept in check by people cutting it and by rabbits who ate the scrub seedlings when they appeared. After myxomatosis was introduced in the 1950s as a way to kill off rabbits, the areas of scrub began to grow. The scrub areas are now cleared when they get too large, and sheep grazing helps to keep them in check The scrub is an important habitat though so the Trust doesn't want to get rid of it all. Wardens will use their knowledge and skills to decide what is the right amount of scrub to have so that the wildlife can thrive, and the landscape remains full of interest.
