The litter fields contain many species of plants and are a good habitat for Insects. Plants include meadowsweet, marsh thistle, comfrey, meadow rue, rush, marsh pennywort, marsh fern, and other plants which like damp ground. Birds, such as harriers and owls, hunt small mammals, such as shrews, across these areas while the snipe needs the litter fields to nest in. K>
