The droves are route ways through the Fen, which run in geometric patterns and divide the land up into different compartments or areas. They are made up of grasses but are cut more regularly than the litter fields and are trampled more by people. This means the droves tend to have plants which grow much shorter in height than those in the fields. Orchids can be found amongst the litter fields in June.
