- HexAtoms Help File...
-
- Details:
- Code: Orion of Bitbox
- Geffex: Orion e Traxx of Bitbox
- Coke: The Coca Cola Company. Vífilfell.
- Quality-
- Assurance:(or lack of it) Orion e Traxx of Bitbox
- Original
- Idea: Frankly said, this idea came from a
- very squarish 'Blowup' game which I
- saw some decades ago in a Ye Olde
- Sinclair programming book...
- But turning it into a hexagonal form
- was actually Traxx' idea... (Tomato!)
-
- Description:
- This game is played on a hexagonal grid containing
- roughly 216 hexes (in AD&D style). The middle hex
- is apparently missing. (We had to put our logo some-
- where!). The object of this game is to take your
- opponents and blow them out of the water (erm, well
- you know.. Nuke 'em to hell!!). And then you can
- (whoa ho!) consider yourself as a winner.
-
- Desktop Help:
- The game installs itself on the iconbar and from
- there you can start the game by clicking with select
- and/or adjust. The game starts by default with two
- players selected. But if you want there to be
- additional players you click on the menu button and
- select a menu called 'Players'. There can be 2-4
- players selected. Well, then if you begin to play
- and decide that you want suddenly to go to the
- desktop can press escape, which throws you back to
- the desktop with the game left intact. From there
- you can select the menu entry 'New Game' and a new
- game will begin.
- As you can see, when a game is in progress the
- 'Players' entry is shaded. This is due to that you
- can't reselect players in a middle of a game (which
- is very stupid to think of). AND! When a game is not
- in progress or when you have just clicked 'New Game'
- that that option is shaded to. There is no point in
- selecting new game again and again when you haven't
- even begun playing!!
-
- Playing the game:
- The art of playing this game is to place your atoms
- on a hex (using select button) and therefore either
- increasing your own atomcount on that particular hex,
- or gaining a new hex. Remember that you can not under
- any circumstances put you atoms on the enemy's hex.
- Ok. When you have put enough atoms on the hex under
- discussion it's colour turns to red, that means it
- has become unstable. Whether it becomes unstable or
- not, depends on how many hexes are surrounding this
- one. If there are three surrounders (corners) you need
- only two to make it unstable and the next time you put
- an atom on it, it explodes. That is, every atom on the
- hex are spread evenly to the surrounding hexes, and
- adding to the ones that were there before. If an atom
- explodes to an unstable hex it explodes too, causing a
- chain reaction. And remember that if one of your atoms
- explodes, and explodes only, to one of the hexes owned
- by yer enemy, it automatically becomes yours. And if
- press adjust over one of your hexes, one atom is
- removed and it's next turn. Devious weapon if used
- correctly. (I don't bother to explain more deeper,
- it's up to you to figure out). Have fun!!
-
- Remember:
- This game is a Lamellibranchiata-ware. That means:
- You can copy the game and distribute as you want as
- long as you:
- 1. Give us a credit (Bitbox)
- 2. Don't even try to put yer name in it
- as the Author or something. (If you
- ain't on the credit list then it is
- your own damn fault!)
- 3. And for Buddah's sake don't sell it
- to other people who might think it is
- a commercial product.
- 4. You may donate some money (few quids)
- for a good cause. (I'm upgrading my
- harddisc..)
- If you even think about breaking these rules (No. 1
- and 4 might get to be exceptions) we will find you,
- tie you down and smash your face in. You (and we)
- know who you are.....
