- Help file for !PanicEdit.
-
- Panic the Fridgehog screen editor
-
- If you haven't played the game (!Panic) yet, then do so. You probably don't
- really need to read its help file but it might explain things a bit. When
- you've played it a bit, carry on reading this.
-
- The screens that are used by Panic are inside !Panic (Shift double click to
- open it) and are called 'Screens'. This means that to use a set of your own
- screens they must be copied into !Panic and renamed Screens. First make sure
- that you have got a safe copy of the original screens, in case you want them
- again. When you run the editor you must first type the full pathname of the
- screens to edit or press return to start a new lot. (e.g. you might type
- Games.!Panic.Screens to edit the original screens, if the game was in a
- directory called 'Games'). Now edit the screens. You can put on cakes, walls
- etc and use del to delete objects. You can't delete the panic or monster
- start points, but you can move them by putting them on in different places.
- The game will crash if you have more than three bad cakes as it can only
- handle up to 4 monsters. Click the screen number ('sc 0') at the bottom to
- edit the next screen. You can't go back a screen, just go round them all if
- you need to go back to one. Click save to save the screens. You will either
- want to replace them directly in the game by typing a pathname like
- 'Games.!Panic.Screens' or save them elsewhere to be put into !Panic and
- renamed Screens when required.
-
- Sorry, but I couldn't be bothered to make it any more user friendly. I only
- really wrote it for me to do the first set of screens but thought I might as
- well include it anyway.
