  8. INTRODUCTION..
  9.  
  10.   This application produces an Impression document that lists all your
  11. fonts. The document is saved in the Document Description Format (filetyped
  12. as a text file).
  13.  
  14.   You can specify the size of the text, and the string to be used for each
  15. font. This could be something like 'The quick brown fox' or simply the font
  16. name.
  17.  
  18. USING...
  19.  
  20.   Double-click on the icon to load ImpFont onto the iconbar. Acorn's !Help
  21. application is supported.
  22.  
  23.   Click on the icon to bring up the main window. Enter the sample text into
  24. the writeable icon, and choose the size of the text by clicking on the up
  25. and down arrows.
  26.  
  27.   If you insert "[font name]" anywhere into the sample text, then it will be
  28. replaced by the name of the font when the file is saved.
  29.  
  30.   When you are happy, click on OK (or press RETURN if the window has the
  31. input focus). A standard save box will appear (note: don't drag the file
  32. directly into Impression, because I can't get direct memory transfers to
  33. work yet).

  35.   To load the file into Impression, simply drag it into a frame. Don't load
  36. using Text or C file loaders or any thing like that.

  38. HINTS...
  39.  
  40.   If you have a lot of fonts then the screen redraws can become VERY slow.
  41. This can be speeded up by:
  42.  
  43.   1. Make a large font cache.
  44.   2. Make the Impression window on the document small.
  45.   3. Reduce the anti-aliasing level to below that of the size of the fonts.

  47.   Also if you have a lot of fonts, then I would recommend that you put the
  48. list onto pages with two columns.
