  11.                    *** IMPORTANT NOTES ***
  12.  
  13. 1) the boot-loader for what will be 1.3.35 has changed which makes it
  14.     incompatible with previous versions.  The new bootloader is not
  15.     yet available, but when 1.3.35 comes out, a new version of 1.1.59
  16.     will be released that works with this loader.
  17.  
  18. 2) the expansion card allocation system has been totally re-written
  19.     in 1.3.35, so please bear this in mind when writing device drivers.
  20.  
  21. The directory structure is now in a state of flux while I re-organise
  22. it for the 1.3.35 release.  Please be patient for this since it is
  23. again quite a big distribution.  I am creating some installation disks
  24. as well.  Mail me if you require details.

  26. Don't bother getting the current version unless you *really* need it.
  27. The new one will be out very soon. [Yes, I know I keep on saying that
  28. but when I find that the kernel seizes and won't tell me why then I
  29. think that if I did release it, I'd just get *lots* of mail!]

  31. Notes:
  32.     *    Please use !SparkFS or !SparkPlug to uncompress the
  33.     .zip files in new/boot.
  34.  
  35.     *    The files in new/base are disk images.  Use rawrite
  36.     or the equivalent to get them onto disks.
  37.     (or '*copy <file> adfs::0' ~CF should work).  DO
  38.     NOT COMPRESS THEM - THEY CONTAIN GZIPPED DATA.
  39.     I have found that SparkFS creating PKZip files
  40.     *totally* messes gzip files up!!!
  41.  
  42.     *    Anyone mirroring this site - could they please keep
  43.     track of who takes copies [I would like to know
  44.     some statistics please], and I would apprechiate some
  45.     mail to let me know that you are mirroring me!

  48.     *    On the configuration, the password defaults to <cr> (the
  49.     enter key).  It will then prompt you for a new password.
  50.     Note that it is not possible at the moment to change it
  51.     afterwards!

  83. Most sources can be found on slackware or sunsite (sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk
  84. mirrors both).  If you can't find something, then please mail me, and I'll
  85. let you know either where to get it from, or I'll upload it.

  87. Note that this is not a binary-only distribution - most of the source is
  88. available elsewhere, and patches are being sent to the developers as
  89. appropriate, but there may be a few packages where this is not the case.
