  1. Help file for "ArgoBill" - the Voyager telephone Cost Display
  2.  
  3. This program depends upon finding the DialLog file in Voyager's directory. It 
  4. will complain if this can't be found.
  5.  
  6. The different (local rate) charges for the three time-bands can be changed in 
  7. the 'Rates' window, displayed via the menu. (Click 'menu' over the display.)
  8. VAT and any discount can also be set here: press <Return> after each change. 
  9. The figures can be stored in the file 'Rates' in the ArgoBill directory.

  11. I have designed the templates (thank you Dick Alstein for TemplEd) for the  
  12. screen font I use on the Risc PC - Optima Medium, at a reduced size using 
  13. Set Wimp$FontSize 160 in PreDesktop on booting. However, the system font needs 
  14. a different template which I include as Template2. This should be renamed for 
  15. use instead, if the font in use doesn't fit my original template.

  17. I am not entirely sure how discounts are applied to B.T.'s rates. I have 
  18. included the ability to display for example the 5% discount available for 
  19. the "Family Numbers" scheme. Any other discount could be included here too. 
  20. The way in which this would operate with the present minimum charge (and let's 
  21. hope this may disappear at some time in the future...) is unclear. The program 
  22. should be easily adaptable to cater for any mistakes in my supposition about 
  23. how the charges are made.

  27. I am grateful to various predecessors whose code I have included in the 
  28. WimpLibAG file - a collection of routines from various sources which simplifies 
  29. Wimp programming. Over the years I'm afraid I have lost track of the authors 
  30. concerned. If anyone recognises 'their' code, I can only say thank-you. Much of 
  31. it came from Darren Sillett in Archive, some from other programs, and some even 
  32. from my own effort... And I am always grateful to Dominic Symes for Zap.

  34. As for me myself... I am a GP and very amateur programmer... (dating from the 
  35. days of the NASCOM 2...) amateur telescope maker and virginalist. (Work that 
  36. one out...) And G3XQU (DXCC=323c) still with an all home-made station. It all 
  37. helps to keep at least one foot on the ground.
