stored.

viewer, and double-click SELECT. The !DiscBox icon will appear on the right
hand side of the icon bar.
Clicking the MENU button over this icon will open the icon bar menu, which
contains the following:

file has not yet been saved, !DiscBox will ask you
if you really want to quit, and loose that file.

open up the !DiscBox main windows, ready to start a new DiscBox file.
* Making and editing DiscBox files------------------------------------------
When the main !DiscBox window is first opened, it will be empty. One other
window will also open up: The FILE INFO window.
This window is a pane, and move around when you drag the main window by
the title bar.
To start a new DiscBox file, insert the disc with the programs that you
want store in DiscBox as records, and show the directory viewer in the
normal way by clicking on the required filer icon on the icon bar. Then
simply drag each file, or application icon to the 'Add Record' icon in
FILE INFO window, and its name will be shown on the left side of the
!DiscBox window.
If you wish to record files in a directory, you must open the directory by first double-clicking SELECT on it, and then dragging the files to the 'Add Record' icon as described above.
NOTE: !DiscBox will read from Hard Disc, and floppy filers, and has been
tested with !MultiFS, for use with PC formatted discs.
To add a comment to a record, click on the record name in the main window.
This will open up the COMMENT window, and display the records current
comment, e.g. 'NO COMMENT!'. Move the pointer to the text line in the
COMMENT window where you want to insert text. And then type in the comment
text. Note that by using the <RETURN> key, and the UP & DOWN CURSOR KEYS,
you can move up and down the text lines. The LEFT & RIGHT CURSOR KEYS move
you along the text lines as would be expected.
Once you have typed in your comment, or edited it, then click SELECT on
CHANGE COMMENT icon to store the comment for that record in the computers
memory. Alternatively, BEFORE clicking SELECT, if you wish to retreve the
old comment, click ADJUST on the CHANGE COMMENT icon.
Comments on records are shown in the COMMENT window when that record is
clicked on with SELECT.
* The DISC INFO window------------------------------------------------------
Clicking SELECT on the 'DISC Info' icon in the FILE INFO window displays
the DISC INFO window (And vice-versa for the 'FILE Info' icon in the DISC
INFO window, which returns you to the FILE INFO window!?).
The DISC INFO window is concerned with data about the disc on which all the
records are held as files and applications.
The disc in question could be an 800K ADFS floppy, 3.5 inch; or 640K or
another size. The disc could also be 5.25 inch, or a hard disc, or a MS-DOS
disc, or just a particular Directory of a hard disc.
NOTE: Where 0 is displayed as the disc size, this prompts you to enter the
size according to the units displayed next to the size icon.
NOTE: When a change to the disc size, name or reference number is made, the
user must then click select on the CHANGE icon ('*' icon next to the
'FILE Info' icon) to store the change; or click ADJUST to undo the
change.
The units used for the size of the disc depend on the type of disc used,
e.g. Floppy disc sizes are normally quoted in Kb, Hard discs in Mb.
To change the type of the disc, click SELECT on either of the up or down
arrow icons to cycle through the different types of disc. The size
and free space icons will change accordingly.
