  4. The file(s) in this archive were/was created for people desiring
  5. 3-dimensional text in their raytracing scenes.  Depending upon the
  6. raytracer you use (i.e., POV-Ray, Vivid, PolyRay, etc.) there several
  7. different methods of creating 3-dimensional text.  Modelled triangles
  8. is simply one such method, with the "RAW" format being a common syntax
  9. for the data.  The file(s) in this archive are in the RAW format.

  11. If you are using POV-Ray or Vivid, you should download Steve Anger's
  12. RAW2POV (or a similar program) to convert and smooth the data into
  13. the format of your raytracer of choice.  To use this data with other
  14. raytracers, check with the programmer to see if he/she knows of or
  15. has written a conversion program for RAW data.

  18. As time permits (or as the mood hits) I will be uploading an ongoing
  19. series of .RAW names, words, and phrases to the Graphics Developers
  20. forum on CompuServe (GO GRAPHDEV).  If, however, you should desire a
  21. custom set of .RAW letters, you can send me a blank diskette and $0.50
  22. per letter (cheap) plus an extra $1.50 for postage and mailer.
