=======================================
This is a Quake alike demo written for the RiscPC called
FQuake, where the F stands for fast, to distinguish form
another version.
The only purpose of these files is to give a demonstration of
what a RiscPC equiped with a Strong Arm processor could make out
of Quake. This implementation is written from scratch and does
-not- rely on any of Id owned source code.
For the moment only a limited number of the original Quake
features are implemented and the current form is not a game
but merely a demonstration of my 3d engine. Probably the
current version will be elaborated more and some flaws will
be corrected, leading possibly to a full game...
You can fly through the building being displayed.
As long as you do nothing the animation loops around in demo
mode. As soon as you click a mouse button you are in control.
Control is with the mouse. The position of the mouse controls
your viewing and heading direction. Moving forward and back is
done with the left and right mouse button. The middle buttion
in combination with the others gives turbo speed.
Clicking all buttons at once restarts demo mode.
The scene is drawn in a 640x480 mode and the mumber of frames
per second are displayed at the top left. As you will see
on a SA the frame rate is usually more than 20 fps. This is
a good deal faster than even the fastest pc could do.
To be fair the pc game does more complex rendering, notably
light mapping which would slow down the current version
if implemented...
