  6.    The Organizers of the FRIED BITS I-III,SILICONVENTION´94,BB SYMPOSIUM'96,
  7.    YELLING JAM PARTY and INTERCON'96 Party bring you the biggest computer-
  8.    party at easter 1997.
  9.  
  10.    The Siliconvention follows the very succesful Fried Bits partys that were
  11.    held during the last years on the same time and location.
  12.  
  13.    All Systems are welcome! That means we have lots of Competitions for the
  14.    following computers: ACORN, AMIGA, ATARI, C64, PC.
  15.  
  16.    The SILIconvention should be seen as an alternative to the usual style of 
  17.    taking parties.
  18.  
  19.    We are of the opinion that just renting a hall, putting a video-beamer and
  20.    some music-boxes in it isn't enough, there should be something more about
  21.    it.
  22.  
  23.    Therefore we decided to organize a party which offers what we missed
  24.    elsewhere :
  25.    Seperate competition-hall and sleeping rooms, showers, live acts, food and
  26.    drink at reasonable prices.
  27.    So you can enjoy the party even more, sleep when you want to, watch the
  28.    competitions you would like to see, or stay at the party-area and
  29.    enjoy the great spirit of the demo-scene.

  31.    We think that having fun is much more important than stupid warfares
  32.    between groups, systems, parties, people ...
  33.    We don't like the arrogant attitude some groups and organizers of other
  34.    parties exhibit towards other people, groups, systems, ...
  35.  
  36.    So our party will differ in that !

  39.    There are some rumours about the SILIconvention being a "commercial" party,
  40.    this is not the case. Of course we have sponsors (all other partys we know
  41.    of have sponsors) without them it wouldn't be possible to keep the
  42.    entrance-fee as low as possible and have nice competition-prizes as well.

  44.    But there will be NO sales on the SILIconvention !
  45.    It is not a sales exhibition but a demo-party where people from all systems
  46.    have fun together.

  48.    All of our sponsors are only providing equipment for the party, or prizes
  49.    for the competitions. So we have excellent prizes, see list below.
  50.    Our prizes will fit the competitions, so there won't be any PC-group
  51.    winning an amiga tubo-card and no Amiga-crew will win software for the PC.
  52.    We have either prizes that fits the system, or things everyone
  53.    can use (for example video-consoles).

  56.    Some people wonder why they haven't heard of the main-organizers, the reason
  57.    for this is that we come from the the Atari-Falcon and Acorn scene , if you
  58.    are involved in one of these scenes you know us , otherwise you probably
  59.    don't.
  60.    But we are not unexperienced in organizing parties, the list at the top is
  61.    not exaggerated, we organized many parties and took part in much more,
  62.    so we know what we are doing.

  65.    every system will come to it's right.

  103.    their equipment plus seperate sleeping rooms!

  106.    RAVE-Act and SID-Act during the SILIconvention'97! Entrance for party

  183.    by car:         Drive to Bremen over the highway and exit at
  184.            "Bremen - Brinkum". Then follow the signs that will show 
  185.            you the way to SILIconvention'97 Party. If you are in 
  186.            trouble by finding the partyplace, just call this number:

  199.    Competitions and Rules?

  202.    The main attraction will be the competitions. Anybody may perform
  203.    graphics, musics or programing. The entries will be shown on two
  204.    videobeamers in a big presentation hall. The best ones will be prized.

  206.    ACORN Demo Competition:
  207.      -configurations: RiscPC SA200, 16MB, 2MB VRAM, 8Bit Sound, Risc OS 3.7
  208.               Archimedes 4000, ARM 250, 4 MB RAM, Risc OS 3.11

  210.      -all resolutions used in the demo must be given in an extra informa-
